Before I looked online I had no idea Bauhaus was even there. Come to find out the same owners of this place own Bauer's 66 Downtown on 9th street which I haven’t been to yet either but I’ve heard of. This place is really cool. It’s really small but had a nice vibe. Everyone there was really cool they greeted me like they knew me when I got there and they made great suggestions. I’m on my vegan journey right now but my friend is not. I found this place looking up vegan restaurants that have regular food too and they have some decent vegan options. The chef cooks everything right there behind the bar. I don’t really drink but they have a good beer selection and a decent wine selection. I tried the Mushroom Al ajillo, Roasted Asparagus, the Asparagus pastry and I had an off menu dish that was rice, vegetables and vegan sausage that I can’t remember the name of but was really good. My friend had the Beef Wellington and she liked it. I will definitely be going back here because the vibe is real chill. Thank you for a nice experience.
Came here again today 11 months later and I am so wowed by this place!!! The food is amazing!!! The desserts are amazing!! Tye Bauer is awesome! I got to talk with him for a while and he is a super nice person. His wait staff is amazing! If you want to taste what a artisan chef cooks, you need to do yourself a real favor and stop in to Bauhaus!!! The atmosphere here is what people always talk about wanting while savoring delicious food! I kick myself for waiting as long as I did to dine here. This place is totally awesome!! I cannot wait to come here again!!
Great spot for tapas and libations. Great beers on tap. Great menu and great daily deals.
We recently moved near downtown Modesto. Each week we walk to two or three restaurants to try out for lunch or dinner (breakfasts will come soon). The Bauhaus just made it to the top of our list. The place is small, but the outdoor patio doubles the space. The food is served tapas style. We tried the pork tenderloin, beer sausage, prosciutto pastry, and brie with walnuts and blackberries pastry. All were great. The tenderloin was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We look forward to having those dishes again and trying more. Our favorite beer of the night was an orange ale. We returned here last night (8/5) for dinner and again ate on the patio. I added a picture of the pork tenderloin on puffed pastry . We had the brie pastry for dessert again, but we ate it all before I remembered to snap a photo. Oh, well...The third time here, 12/21/17 we brought two of our sons. The outdoor heater was out of propane so we sat at the bar. Ty could here orders from around the room. Everything was tasty. We'll be back.
It's nice to have a place that mixes it up from the other modesto spots. The staff was super friendly and fun. I could see some food being a miss for people which would change their experiences. The shrimp dish had raw garlic and the potatoes were not cooked fully and a little dry. BUT, if you order right, the food is excellent! The pork belly was so good! The l Kimchi and the sauce on the plate could have had a little more kick to it. The asparagus was tender and nicely seasoned. I also liked the vegan aoli and parm that was on it. The pork tenderloin had great flavors paired with it, the goats cheese with fruit was really nice with it. Definitely will go again!
You’re never going to find a place so intimate Like Bauhaus in Modesto. Each bit is full of complex flavors that are unlike any other. This is a hidden gem located in corner of scenic and downtown!
Nice place, incredible staff and so accommodating. Delicious vegan options. Will definitely be back.
Bf and I were looking for new restaurants in modesto(we moved from the bay to manteca 2 years ago and hadn't ventured into Modesto yet) the atmosphere was great lots of friendly locals. Very inviting and the food was awesome. I have to add it was really inexpensive! Would definitely recommend.

Totally unexpected to find a place that has such good food. We were on our way to Yosemite and this was a good stop for a vegetarian fare. Even though they were closing and it was super hot outside, they found us a table inside with AC full blast and
A must go to place for those parents with kids infant through 8yrs of age. My kids always have an amazing time. They love the different play areas they offer, such as the slides, the car coaster, the jumper, brick room, and a room for creativity. Gre

The food was excellent. I forgot how big the calzones were and was only able to finish 1/2 of it. The server was nice and remembered a few faces from our large group. Small restaurant in downtown. Never wouldâve known it existed had it not been f

This is a place I feel to be a "hidden gem", while the building is obviously on such a busy street, it doesn't seem get much of a crowd, which is nice as it keeps the wait time to a minimal. The food quality is great, and affordable too. The staff is
