Went sledding here with some friends, inspired by my memories of sledding there during Snowpocalypse when I was at AU. It lived up to my rosy mems and did not disappoint! I would be a little cautious because you gain serious speed, and my friend actually hit a small tree (she’s ok!) Also, parking is limited because the path down to the lower parking lot is extremely rutted - would recommend having a higher clearance / SUV for that!
Great place to walk and socialize your dog in DC. Wooded trails make you forget your in the city.
It’s a very nice park with some lovely trails along a small stream. Unfortunately it is often overtaken by irresponsible dog owners that let their dogs off leash. A dog on a leash here is rare, and it does often feel unsafe to take small children here. Many dogs do not listen to their owners when called, so this is an accident waiting to happen.
Love this park! Amazing place with lots of doggos. Please make this an official dog park already, stop fighting it 👏 😂
At first, I thought this was a dog park because of the amount of dogs running loose off leash. I’m fine with that, but there are some irresponsible owners. One woman, let her dog charge me growling before she stepped on it’s long leash. She caught her dog just in time and just looked at me and said oh you must be a dog person. I gave a polite smile and kept on my way. It’s a great park and I honestly don’t mind the people who don’t find it amusing to let their animals run up, growling at strangers who are using the trails. It’s a federal park with clear leash laws signs that are not enforced. If you are not a dog person or have a small child who is afraid of dogs I’d skip. No one else was as obnoxious as that lady, but be aware that their dogs are all over the place off leash. Be very careful when pulling out of the parking lot. People are engaged in conversation and don’t call their dogs when cars are moving.
A lovely path to take your dogs while getting to see some of the largest homes in DC! A great mid-day walk for your lunch break if you’re looking for something easy and peaceful.
Great park. Lots of dogs play unleashed which is nice until they all infiltrate the swamp and disrupt people on the trails. Owners can sometimes be cliquish. Best to go on a sunny day to avoid mud.
Most dogs that live nearby love this place, as does ours. It’s a great park, not technically a dog park but the park rangers are pretty lenient about not having dogs leashed if no one is being bothered. One of Northwest’s better secret getaways with a nice loop for quick walk.

Awesome little neighborhood park. Literally a hidden gem, tucked away between houses. The neighborhood association and City do a great job of keeping it up. It is a bit small and crowds quickly. The biggest thing to know is that there are a numbe

This is a little-known treasure in SW Washington, DC. It was a gift from the women and children of the Titanic to the men, most of whom died, who chose to stay aboard the sinking ship to make room in the life boats for women to children. This inspiri
Shady respite from the bustle of Connecticut Ave, bountiful birdsong, a few more cicadas in recent days, and friendly neighbors. Several creek crossings - choose your footwear well and bring a camera!
This is one of the nicest small trails in this region of the Rock Creek Park area. The trail crosses a little creek several times. The forest is pleasant and green, and the walk is fairly easy. The trail ends near the Peirce Mill site in Rock Creek.
Great park away from the busy part of town. Free parking. Great for cycling and running. Kids play structure on the south side. Really enjoyed spending time here during our visit to DC.

I normally don't give a five star review, but I had a lot of fun here. It is on the second floor and there is no sign. We arrived at 4:30 pm on a Friday and people were already waiting. By opening time at 5pm, there were enough people to fill the pla
