Pretty clean place. Very friendly staff I PULLED NOTHING IN POKEMON CARD PACK, but the service here was GREAT. Overall a good store 😎😎
I remember Hastings on Zinnia back in the late 90s. I recall how organized, quaint and professional the atmosphere was. We need a humble, well organized bookstore like that again. Sloppiness isn't very noble to book readers and enthusiasts - this atmosphere doesn't jive at all
Great place to find books, or order them if they're not available at the store. Being a member of B&N also helps a lot with great discounts on items in store as well as their Starbucks. The bakery items at the indoor coffee place has a lot of great delicious options. I recently tries the pumpkin spice cheese cake and it went perfectly with my hot vanilla latte. They had a $3 sale on a lot of self care journals and books. We left with a bag full of books as well as a small toy. You can find movies, toys, vinyl, books, Manga, and great customer service.
If this is the best bookshop in McAllen, I'm lucky not to live in McAllen. They sell nothing but left liberal propaganda. They sell a disturbingly huge amount of LGBT books for kids. I think it's disgusting that they sell children's books about crossdressing and transitioning into a different gender. They have tons of biographies for children exclusively of Democrats, there's not a single book for children about any Republican. It is disgusting that they have children's books about Obama, but none about Trump. This library doesn't even attempt to pretend they promote freedom of thought, they only sell books that push their political ideologies.
I liked the place, lots of books with different categories. Well maintained and helpful employees. There is a corner for reading and also in house coffee and cookie zone. But they can stock more books from other languages and countries.
Great selection of books and friendly staff. I love to go into this store and sit and relax...it has a peaceful ambiance feel.
Although the bookstore itself is quite large and upscale, the Starbucks cafe inside lacks customer service. As a usual Starbucks customer, I decided to order for two seasonal fall drinks (one for me and one for my little sister). My barista (May G as stated on the receipt) handed me my drinks 8 mins later and I could automatically tell they were much more orange that usual. The spices on top were also incredibly excessive. When we tried them, they were immensely strong in flavor. When I went back to ask if they could be remade, she told us “Um, NO sorry”. I then threw my drink in the trash and drank water to take the horrendous flavor out of mouth. Please be careful with the drinks you order and the barista at the Starbucks. The picture was taken after I added water to the drink (pumpkin spice chai) and the other drink was a pumpkin spice cream chai latte that was thrown in the trash.
When it comes to books this place has it all and I’m starting to get into manga so there’s a great selection as well
