Gritty little bar & grill that has some nice seafood quickies. Had the the oyster Rockefeller and enjoyed it! Has inside and outside seating. Service was great. Try and come by next trip.
Stopped in to watch WVU vs Penn Game at the bar. Had delicious flounder dinner with their hand cut fries. Giant piece of fresh flounder with a tasty breading! Had a peach rum cocktail that was delicious. Staff very friendly. Will be back.
Oh wow. I dont even know where to begin. Ordered a low country boil and some gumbo to go. Im not sure how they did it but somehow they figured out how to burn the boil, then looked at it and sent it out anyway! I have no idea how you burn boiled seafood. Also the gumbo tasted sour. By far the worst food Ive ever got at the beach. Im literally not even mad, just laughing at how bad this is.How is boiled corn burnt!!!? There are so many places on strand you can go. Please skip this place.
Barnacle Bill's is a great little spot. We went in for lunch during the off season. Jess warmly greeted us and even asked us our names. I just ordered some veggie sides, the hubs ordered raw oysters. Everything was really good. The fried corn on the cob is an experience all its own that I highly recommend. Everything is made to order so don't expect to be in and out. But it's worth the wait. We will definitely be back soon! And it's just a short walk to the beach.
Surprised by the food. It was really good, I only wish it would have been 3 tacos.
Unfortunately, they were short staffed, with no fault of the bartenders. The crayfish were excellent. It took a hour and a half to get a bucket of oysters, which we were told a partially steamed so they come out open. Only 4 were opened and the rest were too hard to open. They were returned to the kitchen to steam a few minutes more. When they came back out, not only were they all still closed, the shells were burnt!
We went the first night of bike week, Not knowing! They shouldn't have mattered. Paid $25 for the ribeye special it was so thin, the chef couldn't get it medium rare, With two tries! Came out well done the first time, send it back, The next one wasn't much better. Not to mention it was served on a paper plate, and I was given a plastic knife and fork to eat with. I might give it a second chance, the crab bite appetizers were pretty good.
Only went for a couple drinks while we waited to meet up w a FB marketplace sale. The bartender was really friendly and helpful figuring out what he wanted to drink since they didn't have the ingredients for what he originally wanted. They had a sour beer, which most places don't have and is my favorite.
The inside is a typical small town bar w DIY renovations and what not, but it's clean and uncluttered, which is pretty much all I'm looking for in a roadside bar. They have a nice outdoor patio area, and the porch is lined w big plastic rocking chairs, which is great.
We'd definitely return again if we were down that way and needed to kill time or grab a drink or something.
