Barbosa's - Mexican restaurant in St Joseph - 4804 Frederick Ave, USA

My fiancé and I ordered takeout from here and we both ordered the chicken fajita burrito. It wasn’t really looking like a burrito but it was really good . The cheese sauce helped. There’s not a lot to pick from on the menu. But the prices were reasonable!

Chips and cheese dip made with labor of love and red pork chile dinner to die for. Drove an hour to try this Mexican restaurant with menu items brought from old family recipe from Guadalajara, Mexico! Worth the drive!!!

My sister and brother n law came from Florida for vacation. We told my sister about this place. Shes only had 1 mexican restaurant and neither her nor her husband liked it. We told them this is a authentic mexican restaurant. I honestly think she was dreading it. We got inside and neither of them knew what to get. We have recommended things but they were unsure if theyd like it. Our waitress went above and beyond. She went to the kitchen and brought out a sample plate of the different meats, rice and beans. I have only ever had the chicken and the beef. Well, when they tried the samples, i tried the pork red chili and OMG, I fell inlove. That is definitely my new go to. My family was able to taste the samples and figure out what they wanted. They were really surprised by the portions of the burritos. My sister got back home to Florida and called me and told me she is now craving Barbosas....lol. The flour chips are like nothing ive ever tried. They are delicious!! It was definitely a great experience for them and for all of us. We absolutely LOVE this place.

4/26/23 You must order the cheese & meat dip with the homemade chips... SO DELICIOUS. The chicken fajitas quesadilla and tacos were fantastic as well. Friendly waitress, wonderful service. Clean, comfortable restaurant. Large servings.

Always great in town food!! I have always loved this place, if you want good food at a decent price, here is a place! I would highly recommend everyone trying it at least once!! I bet you’ll be back and not disappointed.

Had a great lunch here! The chips and enchiladas are classic! Our server was very nice and they weren't too busy. Update 8/12/22 Wonderful food and the place was very busy when we arrived! Our waitress was very kind and took care of our table expertly. Chips and beefy dips was out immediately and food not long after!

Interesting Mexican restaurant……chips were homemade but served cold. Tamales and Chile sauce were pretty good and rice was pretty standard. Refried beans were excellent. Portions were huge and could only eat half of the serving. Overall, decent Mexican for a decent price but nothing to write home about.

Great tex mex place owned by a local family that has been here for generations. Food is made to order, fast and friendly service. Used to have a giant castle years ago, and it was an amazing experience. It was like eating in a museum with a beer garden up top. Food is great and worth stopping by if you're visiting from out of town.
