The matcha old fashioned is to die for. If you’re looking for some real and unique cocktails instead of the watery, sweet cocktails every bar ever makes, this is the place! This bar has won a bunch of awards and rightfully so. It’s a shame I could not try more of their drinks but I’ll definitely be coming back here again. An important heads up: Reservations are highly recommended. They’re basically always fully booked all days of the month, and they open their reservation every month for the following month. They do have walk-ins, but at least when I went today (December 28th), they were only taking like two walk-ins, and my boyfriend and I were luckily the first people in line because we arrived 15 minutes before their opening time. Their service is top notch. Everyone was super friendly and respectful. They gave us little savory snacks to munch on which we really appreciated as a lot of bars don’t do that for some reason. I can’t wait to come back to Hawaii to visit this place again.

Where do I begin? I have been here twice already, and looking forward to future visits to this wonderful establishment. If you are looking for a quick, cheap drink- stop reading, this is not the place for that. However, if you are looking for perfectly-crafted drinks and personalized attention in a low-key elegant yet comfortable setting, this is the place for you. Bar Leather Apron is an experience. This place gives off old-school speakeasy vibes, mixed with the modern comforts of today. The service is phenomenal- the bartenders here seem to really love their craft, and they're outstanding at it. All drinks are served with some background on the actual drink and, depending on the drink, there may also be a mini-show (i.e. their Mai Tai). Getting to the actual drinks- I have either ordered or tried about 10 of their cocktails and they were all excellent, no exaggeration. Even the drinks that weren't really my style were balanced and tasty. It is totally worth coming here- I was jet-lagged, sleep-deprived and exhausted, and Bar Leather Apron washed all of that away.

Some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Mai Tai is truly the best cocktail I’ve ever enjoyed. Downside: If you can’t sit at the bar, you are going to have a really average experience. The non-bar seating is uncomfortable, brightly lit, overlooks an office building staircase, and you miss “the show” of watching the bartenders mix your drink. The bartenders also don’t come over to the non-bar seating to engage or even acknowledge your party at all. They only focus their presence on people seated at the bar. You basically don’t exist to them and are treated as a nuisance if you try to speak with them (thanks for the friendliness, Justin!) . Business district location is undesirable to the point of being a detractor. They really need to find a new lease and add bartenders so they can seat more people in an atmosphere befitting the quality of their drinks. But, if you can set the downsides aside, these are truly some of the best cocktails you will ever have.

Made reservations online pretty far in advance. Small bar with great ambiance. Lots of good whiskey options. Every drink we ordered was explained to us in detail. Definitely worth it!

Truly a phenomenal drinking experience, if you love drinks that exceed the expectations of anything you could imagine, I can wholeheartedly recommend this bar. Our server and coowner justin was experienced and knowledgeable. You will love the time spent here. 10/10.

Drinks are of true hand crafted quality. Service was top notch. It’s a good hire intimate atmosphere. We tried 4 different cocktails and all was high quality and amazing flavors and presentations together with a Friendly and thoughtful service. We wanted to come back but unfortunately bar was closed on Monday. Def recommend for whiskey lovers.

This is one of my favorite bars to go to when I'm in Honolulu. It's super small and intimate which is nice, but also bad because it gets filled up quickly. You should definitely try to make reservations ahead of time. The selection of cocktails here are wonderful and carefully thought out. I don't think I've had a bad drink here. I really enjoyed the Imperial cocktail (a modified version of the old fashioned) and if you like the smoky and piety drinks, try the In The Soul. The Yuzo Sour and Sagano Smoke are also good cocktails. The bartenders are super friendly and knowledgeable about the cocktails. I highly recommend going to this place if you enjoy some quality cocktails and spirits.
