My partner and I loved our visit at the Bar Harbor Inn. We went in the off-season at the end of November just before they closed for the season to celebrate our first 6 months of living together. The rooms were comfortable and cozy. I wish the spa and restaurant had still been open because they look amazing, but we loved the drinks and food at the lounge, and enjoyed going out to the local restaurants in this peaceful quiet season. We stayed in the main inn, and the cozying up in front of the gas fireplace and looking out over the water sunset views did not disappoint! We live only a couple of hours away, and it was just the perfect mini getaway. Thank you for a great time!
I can’t say enough about this place! We celebrated our anniversary here and the housekeeping left a nice little display on our bed, and the front desk gave us chocolates and a handwritten card. The grounds are impeccable! Our room was spacious and the view from our room (ocean view) was breathtaking! We were there right after Hurricane Lee went through and we’re lucky to have nice weather. The downside was that we weren’t able to ride on the sailboat schooner because of the storm. Instead we took the tour of Acadia (see separate review). They had a complimentary breakfast each morning with cold cuts, assorted cheeses, and delicious pastries! The pool looked nice but too cold to swim for us. The room was beautiful and the staff extremely helpful. We bought a package and it included 1 dinner, 1 breakfast and either a boat ride or bus tour. Check my other reviews. Super close to the downtown area.
Had a five star hotel experience here. Truly exceeded our expectations. The continental (included) breakfast was the best continental breakfast we’ve ever experienced. They have gluten free items, take out containers, overnight oats, oat milk, delicious & fresh pastries! The grounds and the view was beautiful. The best place to see the sunrise is only a few feet from the hotel! Everything was clean and all the staff were so kind. I can’t wait to come back one day.
A beautiful property with wonderful service. We stayed here in mid-April, so the town and hotel were quiet and not all amenities or businesses were open yet. The Inn's continental breakfast was nice and the on-site restaurant had fabulous food, views, and live music. I would love to go back!
By far one of the most friendly places I've ever stayed, super clean, tons of amenities, and super great service. The property is STUNNING with a pool, hot tub, fire pit, walking path by the harbor, tons of cool old stuff, to look at. Breakfast was amazing with gluten free options and oat milk. There's a tea and coffee station with phenomenal tea and occasional cookies. Front desk staff also was knowledgeable on gluten friendly options in town. Came in the off season a couple of weeks before everything shuts down and didn't feel like we where missing anything. Looking forward to staying again
We stayed at BHI in November in the main inn and it was phenomenal. Continental breakfast was top notch, and we were pleasantly surprised to see the Oasis Lounge was open. Great Happy Hour specials and the best bartenders around. The staff is excellent, and you could not beat the view and location. I highly recommend and hope to return next November.
I loved this restaurant for its location and tasty food. Its fancy and a bit expensive but totally worth it. The vibe is classy but not intimidating. Its best to dress up a bit for it. They also have a pianist playing live while you dine there. I highly recommend their Blueberry Lemmon Drop Martini drink. While you dining your can enjoy the view of islands from the 360 view windows which is spectacular and expansive. All in all, I highly recommend this place for a date night or with your family.
Great place for a vacation. November may not be the greatest time to go as many restaurants, shops etc. are already closed. But still really enjoyed our time…still enough to do and see. The Bar Harbor Inn is such a great place to stay. We’ve always stayed in the Main Inn. Very clean, well appointed rooms and always great views! We will definitely go back!

Visited in the off season, stunning easy flat walk, while not paved it is for the most part accessible and hazard free. For folks that like to climb on rocks atleast during our visit we where able to climb around on the rocks during lower tide
Very homey and comfortable with a great breakfast. Stayed three nights and had a different breakfast each day. They have a hot water machine in the dining room and a comfortable living room to hang out in. Parking was large enough for a large jeep.
This was such a beautiful place for an easy hike. We loved that it wasn't crowded and the views at the end were breathtaking! Make sure check the rocky areas in the water for seals!
