Great little country cafe. Staff was friendly and personable. Food was hot, fresh and the portions were big. The atmosphere definitely has that "locals only" kind of vibe but we were made to feel more than welcome. Highly recommend the country potatoes extra crispy! Hope to go back soon!
My wife and I always wanted to come here and finally we had the chance. Such a great spot with a lot of history and maybe a ghost or two.... Food was great and the service was just as good
MY ribeye was cooked to perfection. My brother’s was half the width and overcooked. That was a bummer but it still tasted good. They make their own croutons-YUM!!! I’d eat a lot more salad if I could have those croutons every day! The mashed potatoes were delicious. Customer service was great! Boots knows her stuff and she’s a local so it was fun chatting with her! Try it!
Dark, dirty dive bar with mediocre food at best (tasted microwaved), apathetic staff, and mediocre service, despite the place being empty. The place feels dirty and the ownership/management doesn’t seem to care much about quality. Standard Cisco pub fare (microwaves and fryers). Prices are outrageous for quality of the food. This place is lucky they are in the middle of nowhere beside a train track or they’d be out of business. Still, there are better places around the corner. Don’t waste your time with this place unless you like bad vibes and bad food, or you’re a drunk looking for a place to do your thing in the dark.

I’ve been coming to the Banta Inn ever since I can remember; so, if you’re in the area, this is definitely the place to eat at. It’s got good food, a friendly atmosphere, and an interesting history. Portion sizes are generous, and I highly recommend their prime rib on Fridays and Saturdays. They have a separate bar area too, if that’s more to your liking, and live music on some days as well. Order in or take it away, either is delicious.
