Banana Peel Lodge - Hotel in Panama City Beach - 12830 Front Beach Rd, USA

we were very pleased with our stay. we got there on July 14 and checked out July 21 (today) check in was super easy and quick. with the hotel being open 24 hours, there was always someone up front anytime we went in with no wait. i will say when we booked our room, it was under the old management so everything we specifically booked for (live music, 3 meals daily, karaoke, 24 hour pool, beach front, ect) was not included with new management except for the 24 hour pool access which we really enjoyed !! we did not meet the owners but the staff they had was absolutely fantastic, very friendly people. the only complaint we really had was upon arrival, we booked 2 queen beds and ended up with 2 fulls beds, not a huge deal. and also, the beds were made but we did not have any blankets the first night and had to ask for some the next day. overall the room was pretty clean when we got there. there was still sand from previous guests on the bench under the TV and in the floor. i know they’re undergoing some renovations right now, but if i could recommend anything to be done better, it would be the shower floors, standing on those rocks are VERY uncomfortable. and the water pressure in the shower could be better. we thought we didn’t have any hot water because the hot and cold are on opposite sides than what they say. but again, not a huge deal. overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the banana peel lodge and i would recommend to any of my friends and family going to PCB. we will definitely be staying here again !!

The location is within walking distance to coffee, restaurants, beach access, and gift shops. The staff is absolutely amazing & it has great hangout areas + the main office doubles as a mini gift shop. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. However, it definitely is time for some renovations. The tile was dirty & looked as though it hadn't been swept or mopped recently + had a few places where it was cracked. The toilet did not flush at all, apparently due to recent squatters that had to be removed and broke it. Our stay for one night would have bought a brand new toilet though, and should have been replaced before anyone was allowed to stay. Though maintenance was quick to come out when we called, we had these issues all weekend. We realized we had no towels around 6 & called the front desk & were told she'd have someone bring us towels. Call back at 8, still no towels, and were told we'd only THEN be added to a list and we should receive towels within an hour. We did not receive towels until the next morning. Other than those few issues, it was a great stay. They had a bar (though no bartender) with music, an open pool, and areas for games set up. I definitely think with some remodeling, some themed events for the guests, and a hosted bar, it could really compete with the bigger hotels around us. I'm all for supporting local, and I truly think with some updates, this could turn into a real crowd pleaser that those bigger hotels just cannot compete with.

I’ve had a hard time writing this review and it’s long overdue. The ladies up front were amazing, there was a young shirtless barefoot kid making breakfast one morning and he was great too. Good cook for sure. However, we had a service dog and maybe the room we had was dilapidated because of that? I dunno. We asked for toilet paper never got it. Asked for room cleaning, never got it. We were told we could go to dollar general for toilet paper, towels and cleaning supplies. We were there over a week for a baseball tournament and basically used the place to sleep. It’s a place for the younger crowd for sure. Parking is ridiculous but the location was great for the little time we were able to spend at the beach. My resting for service was not for the front counter people, the owner or the cook. It was the house keeping and no washer or dryer.

I was not expecting a "nice room" upon arrival based on previous reviews. I also made sure to keep in mind how affordable the room was and you do in fact get what you pay for. With that said, my room was clean - you could smell the PineSol when you walked through the door, the sheets were clean and unstained, the beds were super comfy and the shower had excellent water pressure. Most importantly, the staff were friendly and engaging. This hotel is a whole vibe and I will definitely stay here again!

This is not a hotel this is a hot mess. The sweaty lady who runs this establishment is pure trash. She is rude and a liar. We get to this hotel about 6 check was at like 3 room wasn't ready. They had to go find a room. It states on the booking site free wifi. If your on vacation wifi is a must. Or at least have cable. Nope the lie was the wifi sometimes doesn't work in one side of the hotel. We were put in a room supposedly they were booked up I walked by at least 12 unkempt rooms. Or room was changed to the side of the hotel "with wifi" this was now a queen suite. These two rooms were not our original room. The lady asked us to leave the next morning because we asked for a refund. We paid in full and wanted to see the refund reflect before we left. Refund screenshot was asked to be taken from our phone. Not a printed receipt . She kept confusing my bf for the staff member. Needless to sat never got a refund. On the last night she sends a. Missing tooth security guard after midnight to kick us out. Still no refund. He threatened to call the police. We went back to sleep.around 3. Also a man and his family were at the pool playing with a cap gun that had a large orange cap on the end it was gold. She came out lied and said she was called the police on him because some called complaint. My bf was discussing the refund at the front desk while I was by the pool no one called her or asked her to speak to him. This hotel is renovated but if you want your money's worth. Get a corporate hotel. We were stuck in the room on a rainy day sitting outside our door. NO WIFI. NO REFUND.

I love the Banana Peel! The room was CLEAN, the water was HOT, the service was FANTASTIC! I think they recently or are in the process of a remodel and it really shows. There’s a “lounge” area with games, great subs, and a bar. Not to mention an awesome front store. The courtyard area is very nice with a clean pool and yard games. I felt safe the entirety of the stay here. Walkable to local coffee/tea shops and bars. I would definitely stay here again!

Hats off to who ever took the pictures that made this look like some kind of resort. Once we got to this place we immediately felt unsafe as we checked in to what we thought was a laundry mat or a old convenience store... it's next to a liquor store and parking is really by the road. The lodge is definitely Bates Motel style, since you will feel uneasy just walking to your room. Took us 5 seconds to leave as soon as we saw the room.

The place was not that bad, I enjoyed my time there. no complaints. J||Jazz was cool. a real sweetheart she is. I had a pina colada that was good. I will probably stay again. I had no issues that were listed in the reviews. I guess people need to learn to be thankful.
