The library is typically a place where you can study for long hours, read, relax or use their computers in a quiet and safe environment.
In this library, most of the time, people are chatting loudly, kids are shouting, you see young couples showing PDA, there are homeless people hovering inside.
I usually book a study room but obviously two mere hours are not enough, and the staff won't let you occupy them past the two hours even if no one is using them or have booked them.
What's the point of having study rooms if you don't let people in need use them?
Today I went to the study room earlier than my reservation time as no one had booked it. A lady came to me rudely as if I stole something, despite telling her that I was aware others can book the room and I would be ready to move out if needed.
Overall, the library is nice after the remodeling but it's definitely not quiet and safe as it should and the staff is rude and non accommodating.
I took my granddaughters to get their library card, each took 4 books. They were very kind to serve us and explain how everything works. They also gave them a bag to carry their books. It was an excellent experience.
I went today and a guy wearing glasses that was at the computer near the entrance was not helpful at all. I told him that I was looking for a lady named____ who signed for a room to conduct and assesment on my child and if he knew where that would be. He just said no. Why are you even working here if you cant even do your job. I found the room myself and he later then came in and said that only 4 people could be in the room. Well maybe if you did your job from the begining then we wouldnt have had an issue and could explain the situation why there was 5 people.I feel like he was just trying to pick on us. My daughter is special needs and needs both me, my husband, and her behavioral therapist in the room with her. Staff needs better training for sure. Especially this guy who seemed very unmotivated and dissatisfied with his job.
Local library across the street from Esther Snyder Community Center/Morgan Park.
Clean overall, clean bathrooms, lots of computers for use, and study rooms. I have attended a couple of events for my children and they are great. This is more of a family library and you will find children exploring books. Meaning children do talk as they walk around looking at the books
You will find adults reading, using the computers, etc but I've noticed the reviews touched on noise but it's not too bad where you lose focus. As someone who grew up by the Central Library in Los Angeles it's relatively low.
And most importantly safe. They have police patrol and visit the area often.
I like the library is pretty clean the staff most of them are nice the only thing i could complain is the parking lot , it was reduced and compacts car dont Park in the reduced spaces, so why was reduced for compacts if even people with small cars doesn't like ,shoud fix it.
Nice public library. Clean and Quiet, plenty of tables and outlets for study
At 7:45pm I approached the circulation desk because no one was attending the information desk. I asked the black male clerk could I ask him four questions. "Do you know what the Department of Toxic Substance Control is?" He replies. "No. I don't feel comfortable answering these questions. You can go online and look it up yourself."
I ask for someone else - possible a librarian. He says everyone is busy. "The Head Librarian is in meeting, the other librarian is counting money. And they won't want to answer questions."
I ask, "Can you ask them please?" it's just four simple questions. "No... we're closing." - the clerk says.
"So I can't get information service?"
After waiting for me to leave, the clerk reluctantly goes towards to the back and brings out an old lady who claims to be a librarian. She says she can't help because they are closing.
It's now 7:50pm. I say, there is still ten minutes, I'm just looking for some information on the Department of Toxic Substance Control." Again, I'm told "No."
"But there is still ten minutes before closing..."
The white Head Librarian who stays hidden behind a glass office comes out from where she's having a meeting ten minutes before closing. She says, "I can over hear a bit through the glass, but I'm in a meeting: how can I help you?"
I say: "I'm looking for some information on the Department of Toxic Substance Control." - now asked for a 4th or 5th time.
The Head Librarian, Katherine Loeser, response" "Oooh - I can't; but we're open tomorrow."
This quality of service is not professional, and the tax payers of this city & county should not be forced to pay for trash service. Beyond having a poor experience with three public service employees, I believe I was not helped due to their prejudice- and I experienced implicit discrimination.
I approached them politely, I did not disrespect anyone, I did not raise my voice or call anyone names. I was ushered out because they choose to believe I was not worth providing information service too.
These people are robbing this community.
Library is nice to bring the family to enjoy all they have to offer. Clean, quiet and the staff is very helpful. I go for the use of their computers, which are nice and quick and get the job done.

Priest Sharma sharma is very responsive and so responsible, one of the best in LA. He does any kind of pooja, homam... Did multiple ceremonies for my kids.
Really appreciate the passion of the employees that they are working hard to wipe tables and sweep floors to keep the restaurant very clean. Of course, great customer service as usual.
Always the best burgers. Usually I order my burger with no sauce
We used to come here a lot when I was a kid and I just came in today because I always remembered them having a good reputation, but wow the food tasted so great! The bbq pork was very juicy and the chow mein was exactly like I remember it.
