I need to talk to y’all bout this place! The people are so kind and patient. They let my grandparents sample the food and drinks to make sure they weren’t buying something they didn’t want! Who does that, that’s when you know you got good good. The food is so good! I like everything even the foods I don’t like carrots but they season and blend them so well they are good to you and good for you. All the ingredients on every product is on the outside of the labels to know what is all In what. The place is clean and the atmosphere is family safe. I love taking my kids to eat their and I love that I was there with my grandparents to give them the type of food they normally cook for my family with out them doing the work.

Everything about Bala’s Bistro was wonderful! The food was deliciously scrumptious. The drinks were flavorful. The atmosphere was spic and span clean and in order. The service was superb. The gentleman offered us samples of each item we wanted to try. He also explained the flavors of each item. The food was reasonably priced for the quality we received. We immensely enjoyed everything we had!

Holy cow! First time having African food and it was so delicious! I have been searching for vegan African food for years now back in Texas and cannot find it. I searched this place as I landed and I am BEYOND grateful I was able to stop in. My bf got a little bit of everything and I didn’t know you could do that so I’m jealous. I would have done the same thing if I had known.

First time here. Seen alot of Tiktoks about Fufu and wanted to try it. Their drinks are the bomb. Atmosphere felt homey. Loved it. Food was amazing. Didn't think I would like it but LOVED it.

This is food that will make you feel loved from the inside out. As a Memphian, I can definitely say this is one of the city’s best kept secrets. Every item tasted distinct and delicious. There is a buffet style plating that you pay for by the weight, which means you can try as many things as will fit on your tray. My partner and I shared a tray of ekusi soup, peanut butter chicken stew, black eyed peas, vegan saka saka, fufu, jollof rice and lamb shank. They put just as much magic into the many vegetarian options there too. And the drinks are LOVELY and made with amazing ingredients. We got coconut baobab juice and honey ginger juice. Both were so delectable, and priced under $5.

Nice people doing good things for our community. Came in everyone was nice a lot of options for different food types. Service was fast and on point. This is the place you go to when u want something different and good.

Fantastic vegan meal for me and meat options for my husband. We are from Australia and just arrived in Memphis. I googled vegan meals near me and it came up. I highly recommend Bala’s Bistro to anyone looking for flavoursome food. Bless you all, well done!

The food is always good, and I usually always get Maffee with oxtail, but this time I got vegan maffee and tried the egusi soup with fufu and I now have a new favorite. This is truly a jewel in Memphis and give me a taste of the motherland.
