A beautiful park, stunning view of the stone giants! So colorful and magnetic! My husband can't help climbing to the balanced work, but it's easy to enjoy it from the road too.
My boys and I love coming to this unique place. It has some of the most incredible rock formations. There's also a picnic area just off the canyon road before you get there. It's right by the stream and we love to picnic there during the summer months
This is such an incredible sight. It's a little out of the way but ABSOLUTELY worth the trip! We hiked up to the rock and it is amazing. Recommend! 😁
This is one is a master piece . Get ready for a very hard trail if you are not that Fit and the trail is quite steep at length of almost a mile and if you are wondering if it is worth it don’t you dare !! Keep your camera ready for pictures and videos if you are entering from Buhl. Splendid view is on the cards. Trail is a bit mess with trash and smashed particles of glass pieces take care Get your self a nice trek shoe or climbing shoe this is a pro trip wear gloves on winter day visits. Enjoy the pictures!!!
I strongly recommend wearing closed-toe shoes because there are a lot of red ants while you climb toward to the balanced rock. It is a great attraction and view, and be careful when you climb. You do not want to slip and fall off, haha.
This is what Idaho is all about, beauty, ruggedness, Rock formations, God's creations, and just great family time. This is a hidden Jewel and makes for a great family hike up around balanced Rock. Afterwards, go down into the actual State Park camping area and enjoy a pristine river that flows through it doing a little bit of swimming and fishing. It is a definite must if you are in the magic valley and looking for some different type of landscapes to hike and climb around on. Really great to take family pictures also if you are the hiking and camping type.
Very cool place to see! You don’t even have to leave your car to take beautiful photos of this unbelievable rock. There are trails to walk to the balanced rock if you would like to get closer.
I am so glad I visited here, it was a 30 minute drive but worth it. It had a little trail we walked about 30 minutes and the campground was nice. I also spent way too much time chasing and catching lizards. I loved it. We saw fish in the river and climbed the rocks. I would be careful of watching littles if you're going to be by the river as there is no beach or area and it's deceptively deep. But there are places away and we were fine with kids raging from 18 months to 9. But a good note none the less. It wasn't too awful and had shade. The toilets were upgraded outhouse but were clean and if you enjoy a breeze up your bum you'll love it. Overall, a good use of several hours. No cell service personally, but not far from where it cut off.
The food was amazing and large portions. It's a must-try! Prices are reasonable and fair. I will be trying the Pastrami Rueben Sandy for sure next time.
