Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach - a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel - Featured Reviews (5274)
We stayed here for 3 nights in August. We had 7 rooms. 6 had paid extra for Marina view, king beds. 3 of our couples have mobility issues with stairs. The elevator was out of order in the tower we stayed in. The porter, James, was very helpful and took all of our luggage up the stairs and back down when we checked out. When we checked in, I was told if the room wasn't satisfactory, they would move us to the larger tower the next day. I spent hours trying to get appropriate accommodations for our mobility impaired guests. The best management could do was give us rooms with double beds for $40 more. This was absurdly unacceptable, so we stayed where we were. The marina views are mostly obstructed so not worth paying extra. The rooms were very clean, the location is awesome. However, when the service is lacking, it takes away from those great attributes.
The room I was given was great for the price I paid. It had a great view of the marina and the beach. Although the room did have a fridge and coffee machine, it did not have a microwave. The room was always cleaned/refreshed while I was out for the day. Most of the staff were friendly, some more than others. I appreciated the complementary drinks, however I can't be sure they always actually contained alcohol because they were premixed.
My only true qualm really was a comment made by the hotel manager... Myself, a family of middle eastern ethnicity, the hotel manager and a woman he was showing a room to got onto the elevator. The hotel manager then makes a comment about someone smoking something that they shouldn't be at the hotel... I didn't smell anything, which led me to infer his comment was in reference to myself, a black woman with locs, or to the family. I found it to be out of place and culturally insensitive to discuss that with guests of the hotel.
I booked a standard room and was upgraded to an ocean view room with a small balcony on the 15th floor. Comfy bed and great water flow for shower. Everything was clean. Great location for the beach, also arguably better than other 5 star hotels in the same area. Good value. 10/10
It should have been torn down and replaced 20-30 years ago. The front desk told me they can't replace it because it is classified as a historical building. The original low rise building is the worst! It was probably the place to go in the 1950's, but after 80+ years of mold, mildew, college spring break parties, and people smoking in the rooms with virtually no maintenance this place cannot be refurbished. It smells like a sewer and needs to be torn down. The tower is a little bit better than the low rise building, but not by much (it was built in 1975 or 1980 depending on who you ask). Think of it...80 years of misuse and abuse. I stayed there on a business trip and begged to get moved from the low rise into the tower. Doubletree executives need to stay here. I am confident they would remove their brand name. This place is a dump.
Worse hotel experience ever!! I booked this hotel in July for my wedding and it was the most horrible experience I have ever had. It took me this long to calm down to write this review. First parking was $50 a night and it wasn’t even near the hotel the parking near where we were staying was completely blocked off. Then they put us in the secondary smaller building near the marina and the hallways smelled like urine and the rooms and the building overall was very outdated like worse than if you stayed in a motel from the bates motel. The toilets didn’t even work my entire stay I had to walk all the way to the other building to use the bathroom. I have pictures of everything. And to make things worse the day before my wedding they had a power outage the only buildings affected until the day of my wedding an hour before the ceremony. It was the worst experience of my life imagine sweating and no power the day of my wedding in the middle of summer. No power for two days!! Some may say well why didn’t you just go to another hotel one because I pre booked it for 3 days and they had a hold on my account from the booking. I literally had to make the best of it, and I tried my best to not get upset for my wedding but after the ceremony I went and talked to them and their manager was very rude and didn’t feel like she should comp me anything even yelled at me and told me to just calm down when we are talking about an event in my life I can never redo. That will forever be my memory of my wedding. I had to go back 3 times before they would comp me for two nights when I really shouldn’t have paid anything and I drove all the way from Texas. Thanks Bahia Mar Resort never again. Sorry for the long post but I don’t ever want another bride to go through what I had to endure. If they try me I will post my pictures.
This was a GREAT hotel for us. Quick walk to the beach with its own bridge to get there. Nice pool and bar. You get cookies and water when you show up and a voucher for 2 free drinks. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was nice, the workers are the nicest people ever. They let us check in SUPER early and they have a place to keep luggage if you have to check out but don’t leave until later in the day. After our “honeymoon from hell” where everything went wrong, we felt like this hotel gave us a small piece of happiness we really needed.
I really enjoyed my stay at Bahia Mar. I enjoyed the complimentary cookies & spring water, which they were not stingy with at all. Also enjoyed the free daily alcohol beverage each day, and the free bikes you can use for an hour. Staff was very pleasant as well. I would definitely stay here again.
Amazing mother-son trip! Every staff member was super helpful and attentive, especially Wendy and Azeem. Hotel was clean, the pool was great, and the food and drinks were tasty. Loved that my son’s breakfast was free and he enjoyed the cookies.

Absolutely one of our favorite spots in all of the Fort Lauderdale food scene. Great knowledge and selection of natural wines, next level food with a constant rotating menu. This was one of the best Caesar salads Iâve ever had in my life, the Cacio
