My husband and I were on holiday from the UK and stayed for 1 night in October during our road trip through Mississippi. Baer House was a great find and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. |Patricia greeted us on arrival and showed us to our room. Was very helpful with suggestions of what to do with our short time in Vicksburg and restaurant recommendations. |Our room was spotless, spacious and comfortable and we were served a delicious breakfast the following morning which was enjoyed around the dining table with other guests. Plus Patricia gave us all a brief history of Baer House which was very interesting. |Baer House is very conveniently located to restaurants in the historic area. A short walk there and back although uphill on return. Not an issue for us. But something to consider if it is. Thank you Patricia for making our short stay a successful one. We wish you all the best.

My girlfriend and I stayed for one night in mid-September and we had a wonderful experience. The hosts greeted us on arrival as they were sitting on the porch when we pulled in. Check in was easy and the recommendations on what to do and where to eat were very helpful. The house itself is stunning and a great period home with full amenities. The town of Vicksburg itself is quaint and the home is not a far walk or drive from the main thoroughfare in town. The highlight had to be the breakfast. We ate with 4 other couples from different corners of the world. it was great that breakfast was served all at once so we could mingle with other guests. The breakfast itself was delicious and well done by the hosts.

We loved staying in this well-maintained and thoughtfully updated historic home. The private, off-street parking leads to a back porch where the innkeeper greeted us, and led us inside to retrieve our room key and tell us about the house amenities as well as recommendations for area activities and dining. We stayed in a lovely room called The General, which is one of the rooms with a private bath. The bedrooms have mini-split air conditioning units, and The General has a ceiling fan as well; we were very comfortable despite the late summer heat. Coffee service began at 7 a.m. and breakfast was served at 8:30. The hosts were attuned to the specific dietary needs of their guests and, while we did not have any restrictions, I observed other guests being accommodated graciously. Around the large dining table we enjoyed conversation with couples from the US, UK, and Denmark, one of the unique delights of stying at a small inn. We wished we had been able to arrive earlier and stay longer to enjoy more time in the parlor/library and den, and to enjoy another lovely breakfast.

My sister and I 2 states away, was planning a sister trip for Wed Jan 24th and was so looking forward to the trip and found the Baer house. We had booked it thru a 3rd party, but we wasnt getting the room we reserved . The owner of The Baer house sent me an email telling me that I could get the room I wanted thru him, but I would have to contact the 3rd party to get approval for canceling the reservation . I did contact them. Then we got the room at a very reasonable rate and was already packed and ready to go ! We had just came thru a snow/ice storm, then the week we had planned for our trip, it starting raining and the roads where me and my sister lived were flooding. We kept a watch on the weather in Vicksburg too. She lives 4 hrs from me then we had a little over 3 1/2 hrs from my house to the Inn. I sent a email to the owner, Corey, Rickrode, and ask him if we could "RESCHEDULE" our trip to the following WED jan 31st. due to the bad weather. WE DID "NOT" want to "CANCEL" because we were really looking forward to going and was wanting to stay 2 nights. We felt VERY uneasy trying to drive with rain and the flooding of the roads. He told me that if I canceled it would cost the whole night stay of 117.00 . We had no control over the weather. He did NOT even TRY to work out anything for us to come stay. I texted him that My sister and I both live on our Social Security and had been saving up for this trip. No big deal for him! cause The next day he deducted the 117.00 from my checking acct . You know, YOUR guests Are the ones that keep YOU open!! If you treat them right , you will have repeats.I still don"t know WHY he had to cancel and not just reschedule. I guess some people are just money hungry ! I will NEVER reccommend this place to NO ONE!!

Loved the large dinning table, guests were able to enjoy talking with others during breakfast. House decorated with beautiful artwork. Owners very friendly and accommodating. Great location to Vicksburg!

We stayed at the Baer House for two nights in mid-December. The room was large and comfortable, as was the bed, and pleasingly decorated with old furniture--we don't know antiques. The en suite bathroom was acceptable, nothing beyond the basic equipment. The breakfasts were homemade, very tasty and ample--we didn't need to eat lunch either day. The hosts were friendly and well informed about the town and how to make the most of the various historical sites and museums. They also recommended good restaurants for dinner.

We are doing a cross country drive this summer, visiting national parks, landmarks and little known treasured places. We were thrilled to have found this restaurant. It’s far from fancy, but in our humble opinion it rates as high as the Chart House

Another one added to my collection! 🤙 Here is my take 1. Plenty of selection. They have all the classic donuts and the size of them is on the larger end of the scale 2. The icing itself is sort of a hybrid of royal and something else. Almost a p

Excellent movie, nice exhibits, and friendly staff. We received a lot of information about the park. Plan on spending 4 hours at the park to do everything. We got out 3 times to explore. The video plays every half hour and is worth seeing it
