I love to bring my cat here to go for walks on the trails through the prairies. It is such a beautiful perserved prairie space. The prairie is filled with native wild flowers. There are general walking trails, mountain bike trails, a playground, soccer field and a massive dog park divided into two sections for large and small dogs. There is also a playground up the hill.
Such a great space for a variety of activities, highly recommend.

There are fields on both sides of Cross County Road for all age groups, good parking, lots o' portapotties, and real bathroom with running water near the Edgewood College Eagle Field.
While the kids practice...you can walk the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and Prairie Restoration.
Gas stations nearby in case your sweetie forgot their water bottle, sunblock or bug spray.
Milios Subs just down the street - good food and good service.
Badger Prairie has everything. Bike trail, dog park for big and small dogs, the ice age trail and military ridge trails meet up in this area. Up the hill is a playground and pavilion for gatherings.
Having two small breed Dogs, we frequent the "small" Dog Park. Almost every time, someone, or someones bring in Dogs that are at the least medium breed, many of which are large breed, but not fully grown Pups which are full of energy and time and time again overwhelm small Dogs. The other park for those larger than "small' is 100' feet away ...
Nice sized fenced in park for dogs to roam freely off leash. There's now an area with 2 picnic tables covered with a canopy. There's also a picnic table under a shady tree. Poop bags are available upon entrance at no cost and there are bens for disposal around the park. There's also a gravel path that goes around the park for both dogs and owners to get their daily walks in. There are 2 or 3 water bowls around the park that can be filled but I recommend bringing your own. There are no fountains. All of the dogs and people I've met have been very pleasant. Only down side to me is that it could use a few more shady spots.
Mostly soccer fields but there are some good trails that connect to the Ice Age Trail and there are some lovely views from the top of the hills.

One of our favorite dog parks in the Madison area. 2 full laps is about a mile, but our dogs love the large open space. The small dog area is a nice perk too.

Having just moved to the area from out of state, this park was such a gem to find. The equipment all feels very new and updated, the splash pad area is spacious and is well laid out. Super super fun!
We parked here and hiked the ice age trail Verona segment (6.5 miles one way). Dogs are welcomed and must be on leash. Some parts of it is quite muddy, so come prepared. Beautiful hike with changing views.
This is the dog park we go to when we want our dog to play with other dogs! The field is great for dogs to run around. In recent years, it seems like they've figured out how to avoid getting big mud puddles, which is a huge plus.
Place was very busy which we know why now. So we opted to sit on the patio to avoid the long wait. Very sunny and very warm which rightfully so; it's outside. Might I suggest a sunscreen at least so you can at least enjoy your time outside even if
