Backroads Diner - Diner in Arab - 213 3rd Ave NW, USA

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Backroads Diner, and it was a wonderful experience. I'm a fan of small family-owned businesses in small towns, and this place was exactly what I was hoping for. I love places that offer a home-cooked breakfast experience. The Sunny-Side-Up eggs I ordered were cooked to perfection, served with toast, tea, and jam. The grilled chicken breast was deliciously tender and flavorful. My waitress, Katie, provided exceptional service with her politeness and attentiveness. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely make sure to stop by for another delightful breakfast.

Ordered daily special of turkey, dressing , yams, green beans. Waited 25 minutes to get my food and out of yams,, so I ordered mashed potatoes, but got slaw. 7 tables of people came in while we waited and all ordered cheese burgers. All received their orders before us and four people actually left before we got food. Our food was cold, green beans were uneatable because of salt, dressing cold. Unbelievable! I always try eating at local places, but this one is a bust!! Waitress just not concerned!

I had high hopes for a great breakfast from this "off the main track" dinner, but alas, the name could be "Middle of the Road Diner". Nothing was standout. Everything was ok, nothing really stood out. My first observation was there was a number of tables yet to be bused, which I noticed when shown to my table by a less-than-friendly waitress. I ordered a breakfast consisting of eggs, country ham, hash browns and biscuit and "homemade gravy". The eggs were a little overcooked (I like over-easy, they came over-medium). The hash browns were okay, but clearly from a frozen bag. The biscuit and gravy were, to be generous, disappointing. The biscuits was overcooked and crusty on the bottom (I had to use the steak knife meant for the ham to cut it) and the gravy had a sweet taste which just didn't belong there. I doubt a second chance to get it right is forthcoming.

Hamburger &fries were very good. Lasagna lunch special, English peas and slaw weren't tasty. Cake was dry. Crowd was way down. Must have changed cooks.

Food was resonably priced,service was good,but my sausage was not even warm,like it was cooked an hour before

I ordered the BBQ salad... once someone finally came to take our order. It was lettuce with a pile of FAT smothered in BBQ sauce. No meat what so ever. It was disgusting.

Great food, sweet service! Old place in there Middle of no where.... Fun place to eat 😁

It's OK but not the greatest place to eat. They could do better.
