Backfin - American restaurant in Eustis - 108 N Bay St, USA

Have been absent from Backfin for a bit, but went back today and as always they didn’t disappoint. The server was very pleasant and a delight, great atmosphere, the wine was great, and as always the best Blackened Haddock in town. I paired it with their side salad, their balsamic vinegar and it was delicious. My company had the Steak Bites and Okra and she loved every bite. Locally owned and operated so you definitely need to support local owners.

Ordered the Crawfish boil to go. Brady was amazing from the initial call to pick up. His service means my family will try dine-in next time for sure!!! Food looks phenomenal as well. Thank you so much. It was a long morning and you made it better!!!

My family and I come in regularly, the food is always spectacular. We came in Saturday before Christmas, we got boneless wings and grilled haddock, it was wonderful! We were told up front the menu was limited, because everything they serve is fresh, and they are going to be closed for the next week. There was a table being extremely difficult and Christina, the owner handled it so well. Even though she comped their meal, and they still couldn’t be pleased. Sabrina and Brady are always so pleasant, and welcoming! 💕

We had an excellent dinner at Backfin last night. Gator bites were crunchy and flavorful. Soft crab sandwich and the coconut shrimp dinner were delicious. We watched the sunset as we ate our dinner while Dave took care of us and frequently checked on us. Ask for him during your next visit, you won't regret it!

Ordered a to-go order from here for the first time tonight and probably won't return. I arrived a little after I was told over the phone when it would be ready. Nobody greeted me for about 5 minutes. Finally someone assisted me and then i was kept waiting for another 5-10 minutes, just to pick up a simple to-go order of just 1 item. There was no air conditioning running at all during the time I was in there. It was very warm and uncomfortable inside. Finally when I got my food, the portion was pathetic for the price. See the attached photo to see what a $17.21 salad looks like here. I was expecting it to be more like a dinner salad portion, but it was basically just a snack. The food itself was ok... nothing to write home about. (Though I acknowledge that I didn't order seafood, and this is mainly a seafood restaurant, so maybe other menu items are better.) Just wasn't the best experience in many aspects and I don't plan to return or recommend this restaurant to anyone in the future.

Our first time here, we had a super good server who was just learning, David was his name, and he did an excellent job! Very personable, and when we go back, we will ask for him every time.

Where can I start… me and my husband decided to try this new restaurant we heard about. It’s located right next to the water. We came all the way from Orlando to try this place. We started off with gator tails. The sauce that was served with it is made from heaven. Then we tried the old bay jumbo peel and eat shrimps. They served it with butter and cocktail sauce. The best sauce was at the bottom of the plate. AMAZING!!. Then we tired the softshell crab sandwich and the grilled shrimp quesadilla. Next we tried the haddock fish… omgg it taste like butter especially with that sauce on the side. The $5 margaritas was amazing. Amazing service Mrs. Tina, Mr. Breau and Dave are amazing.

Wonderful service and the food was delicious! My husband and I had the crab cakes and the swamp fries , everything was fresh and flavorful! Definitely recommend and we absolutely will be back ! This place has a good thing going!!
