We had an EXCELLENT stay! This was our first time staying at an Avid hotel, and while we can’t speak for the entire chain, the Southhaven location was wonderful. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The front desk staff is SO very nice and friendly. ||We specifically gave a rating of 5 stars because:|- the front desk receptionist (Sharonda ?) made the extra effort to check us in early, she even came out to the parking lot looking for me to tell us that our room was ready!|- the lobby and halls are very clean|- our room was clean: the shower, the bed, the refrigerator |- all of the amenities in the bathroom were the same brand (shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, lotion, body wash)|- the towels were clean and not frayed |- the bed was comfortable |- the TV was large and worked perfectly |- the carpet and furniture was clean and not stained|- there was an iron, ironing board and hair dryer|- the coffee station in the lobby was immaculate ||Everything was wonderful and we will definitely stay here again! |-

Before I begin the review, there is an issue in your server room on the 3rd floor. A low, vibrating sound coming thru the wall. Sounds like fans to cool the room not kicking on. Happens every 15 seconds. If this is the case (fans nor working), it could severely damage the equipment that is in that room. ||We were switched to another room, and slept well, although the pillows are a little too soft for my liking. Everything was great.||Casting from phone, tablet, or laptop to the teevee is a great option. I can imagine families with small children who are used to "their shows" find this an comforting choice. ||Breakfast was good (thanks, Glenda). I enjoyed the vegetable egg white omelet and a toasted bagel, and grabbed a granola bar for the road. Wife enjoyed the boiled eggs, mini muffins, and bean-to-cup coffee. ||Overall, a great stay at an amazingly clean hotel. Side note, LOVE that there is no carpet in the rooms, and a walk-in shower is a major bonus.||We will definitely seek out Avid hotels when we travel.

The hotel is very modern and comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient. The rate was very competitive for the area. The location is very good with several good restaurants nearby. Two negatives: 1) The shower floor is extremely slippery and you have to be very cautious and 2) It is located close to an airport and you hear the planes taking off and landing.

A pretty standard hotel, beds were comfortable, water pressure was good. Although the desk was a little janky, it was a floating desk but it’d come away from the wall and was wobbly. What made it great was the staff, all very friendly and welcoming people!

Literally the worst experience ever. My boyfriend and I came back to the room after picking up food and saw a bedbug crawling on the sheets. He picks it up with a tissue and throws it away. We go downstairs and ask for a room change, but the lady at the front desk was so rude. She asked if we had proof... why would we lie about a bedbug? Since we booked through a third party, she said there was nothing she could do. We went back upstairs to take a picture of the bedbug, called the third party, and attempted to get a refund. They told us the hotel agreed to give us a refund only if we left quietly and within the next five minutes. Do not stay here unless you want to sleep with bedbugs and risk infecting your home when you leave. Judging from how they handled that situation, the bedbugs have probably spread all over the third floor. Be careful, save your money, and don't book here.

One of the worker ladies was nice and said to take some breakfast food for the road. Her name was Glenda and she was really sweet. She made sure I had enough snacks so I took some yogurt and sausage egg bites. Plus the coffee bar was awesome and had syrup and milk for the coffee.

Rooms were really clean. I absolutely love that there wasn’t carpet. I find carpet in hotels disgusting. Also we finally found a hotel that have shades that completely cover the window. There is always the crack down the middle, bottom, or top of the curtain that lets light in the morning but theirs covers it all which is awesome! They had great pillows and beds are very comfortable.

Positive: Friendly and helpful staff. Beds and especially pillow choices were very good. Breakfast offered a good selection of items. Good location. Negative: I wish they would open and place garbage liners in waste basket instead of leaving bags for guests to do it.
