Austin Motel - Motel in Austin - 1220 S Congress Ave, USA

This is a great place to stay when visiting Austin! We came for a quick anniversary trip and we could not have been happier with our choice. My husband and I travel a lot and we typically stay at Hilton or Marriott hotels, which we mostly love, but we also appreciate boutique and unique hotels. This place is so unique, in a great way. It’s quirky and cool, in a very good, Austin way. The reception was fantastic and friendly. The hotel pool looks so nice, and we were bummed we didn’t take advantage of it. We will next time! But let me just say, we both LOVED the comfort of room and our bed! It was way better than those at many of our larger hotel chains. We had an incredibly comfortable sleep! This was after a great night dinner followed by enjoying awesome live music at the iconic Continental Club just a block away. You cannot beat the location, comfort and price. We will be back!

This is the coolest motel I’ve ever stayed in! The design/layout of it is very retro and cute — it’s exactly what I would expect a motel from the sixties/seventies to represent, (I’m really into old motels/diners.) Our room was nice and clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the pool the next day while everyone else was checking out and then we went and ate breakfast at the little diner next door, and the food was awesome. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had such a good time here, Austin in general was a blast. We’ll definitely be back and when we are, we’ll definitely stay at the Austin Motel again.

Everyone at the hotel is so friendly and accommodating. We requested to check in early and although there’s no guarantee, we were able to check in well before 3pm. Pool awesome! Staff amazing, bartender and margaritas poolside perfection! I’ve been coming every year for about 4-5 years and it’s a blast every time! Oh and the sleeping pillows are heavenly. To top it off, location can’t be beat. It’s always a true Austin vibe!

Excelente location off S. Congress. Walking distance to shops, food and coffee. Received with a smile and warm welcome. The pool was great—not hot & plenty of shade. Bed was comfy. Decoration was fun! Had a great nights sleep. Didn’t hear any traffic or extra noise.

I have always wanted to stay here due to the location and it being a smaller place with parking and a pool. I finally had my chance and the Austin Motel did not disappoint me. |I wasn't looking for anything fancy or any amenities other than a pool. I called to ask a few questions about parking and Helena was totally cool about it and answered my questions. I proceeded to book a room. |Once we arrived check on was easy and the room was clean and welcoming. Keep in mind it is mostly unaltered from years ago, which didn't bother me because we knew what to expect. My son and I were treated well and thought the style was pretty cool. Pool was in my opinion one of the best in Austin with the small bar and had areas in the shade and the sun. Everyone was chill and I enjoyed myself before moving my son into his apartment the next morning. |I didn't ask for much but I got all I wanted.

Austin Motel is just amazing. The location is perfect for shopping dining and night life. The room takes you back to the glamour of the 60s!! So much fun with the pool side surf party and movie night. Parking is complimentary as well. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed the clean quirky, vintage vibe of rooms we stayed on. The heated bathroom tiles were an unexpected perk and mattress was good quality. Terrific location!! We had a terrific time!! Loved it and will stay here in the future fore sure.

With just a little more attention this place could be 5 stars. The bathroom needs a remodel and the sink water was always warm/hot. An issue which is not the motels fault were the people staying around us. Very rude coming in all hours of the night, taking so loud you could hear the conversation and slamming everything.
