Auld Holland Inn - Hotel in Oak Harbor - 33575 State Rte 20, USA

Quaint little Inn right on the highway. The place certainly seemed like it has been around a while though it has been reasonably well maintained. Our biggest complaint was the bed. It felt like a sheet of plywood with a little padding on top. If you like a VERY firm mattress then this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would recommend going elsewhere or bringing a mattress pad with you.

There is something to be said for the nostalgia of staying at one of the most iconic inns in the island. The staff were wonderful, the continental breakfast was quick and simple, and you can't beat the ease of the location. The rooms are the only hitch. Very clean, but left a bit to be desired. The doorknob was loose in the frame (thankfully backed up by a deadbolt), and the lights above the sink and mirror plain didn't work. I still appreciate the wonderful staff, and I can now say I stayed at the Auld Holland after living so close for 20+ years.

This place has a very unique and intense smell in a bad way. Pretty sure there is a heavy mold problem. Very loud constant flights going by. There is a bug issue. Bugs were crawling up the walls. The carpet was stained all over with random dark marks. There was dusty items and moldy items there. Camera in hall. $200 a night special spa suite was nestled right above owner’s room on 2nd floor with cameras in hall. Creepy and dirty and not safe. Pictures do not do it justice. We thought it was a quaint and cute independent place but it is very dirty, smelly and moldy. They refused to refund even though we left soon after seeing room and made sure to announce because we needed to return the antique key to a box.

It's right in Oak Harbor, has clean and cute rooms, excellent prices, and the staff is amazing. Given that this hotel has significance in my family, I was so glad to not be at all disappointed with their standards. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked this hotel coming from Canada to explore whidby island for a couple of days. With the exchange rate this hotel ended up still being quite expensive for what it was. The hospitality was wonderful but the rooms desperately need upgrading. But the location is good. I found the room nice and quiet. Clean enough for the evening. House cleaners can only do so much with this place at this point. Parking was easy and ample and I loved hearing the jets overhead as we have an aviation loving child. Breakfast was good and I liked the coffee machine in the lobby!

This is my 3rd time staying here and it was amazing! Check-in was good. The gentleman made sure I had a room in the ground floor since I couldn't do stairs. I had a cozy room with a queen bed with a kitchenette. It was so cute and clean! Bed was comfy. See pics. ||Even though it was right by the freeway, it was pretty quiet for the most part with the occasional car or truck passing by. ||They have a nice continental breakfast with bagels, cereal, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, coffee, and milk. ||This is my go to place to stay in Oak Harbor and will definitely stay here again!

This place is a true gem! It's an older structure with authentic charm - wooden beams, shuttered windows, floral paint, wallpaper, tile for that eclectic feel. The queen suite with the jetted tub was nice, the fireplace was a cute touch. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space in the room. Nothing that ruined the experience for me, but under the bed was not cleaned from the people before us. There were random items and durt visible. Otherwise, the room felt well maintained. I loved the whimsical feeling of opening the windows that push out! The shutters did need cleaned as well. The front desk woman was so sweet and caring of her guests. Over all it was a great experience for me and my 3 year old on our mama and son get away! We would love to come back.

Charming rooms with character! Loved the small kitchenette, the vintage tile, and the overall vibe. Clean, but dated, and that’s perfectly fine with us. Excellent place to stay! Sauna was an unexpected bonus, and the continental breakfast was a great added value (coffee, bagels, pastries, fresh fruit, cereal, etc.)
