**Look for deals to buy tickets with aquarium or zoo, can get them 2 for the price of one! Much more worth it!** Insectarium was great! Staff were friendly, very informative, kid friendly with the opportunity to try foods with insects in them for free! Would be a great place for kids.

We were impressed with the insectarium! The variety of insects and exhibits was interesting. Our kids, ages 10, 8, and 5, loved it and were fascinated by all the things to see and learn. They greatly enjoyed the butterfly experience, too.

This is a must visit place if you are in New Orleans! A wonderful experience for children and adults alike. Meet a variety of insects ranging from ants all the way to atlas beetles and a black widow! The interactive activities will keep your little ones busy, including the butterfly area and the insect kitchen where you can actually eat a cricket! It is great for a half-day visit xoupled with the aquarium.

A beautiful museum full of all kinds of displays and information about the world of insects. It was very educational and kept us entertained for hours. I recommend the butterfly garden and then especially I say to take your time and really observe the beauty of these critters. Patience pays off waiting for some of them to open their wings while they're resting.

A very beautiful and quality attraction! We really enjoyed our time at the Insectarium. The exhibits are very well designed, engaging, and visually beautiful. I recommend the Aquarium and Zoo combo offer. If you have the time and money it is well worth it.

The exhibits are very light on information but provide you with a couple dozen enclosures full of interesting insects, good lighting and viewing angles. There is also a small butterfly garden and viewing windows for chrysilids. The whole thing will last about an hour if you're really taking time to observe the animals. At an adult ticket price of $35, it's too expensive for what you get. But when you bundle aquarium tickets (same building) and additionally zoo tickets (across town) it gets progressively cheaper and becomes a better value that can take up most of a day.

The first thing I did before I wrote my honest opinion about this place is to read other reviews to make sure I'm not overreacting and I see lots of other people agree with me. This place is itself is extremely well designed - it's clean and organized and visually appealing. Lots of cool things to see. A few hands-on activities. The highlights for my kids were the butterfly garden and the Bug Cafe (!) However, the price for what is is, is outrageous. The whole thing takes about an hour even with trying to stretch it out. (To compare we spent the entire day at the Children's Museum for half the price). You can save some money if you book the package with the aquarium and the zoo, which is great for tourists who are packing a bunch of things in in a short amount of time but the timing won't work for locals. The admission should be half of what it is!

It's a wonderful experience. we went to the insectarian. Which was beautiful with all the butterflies that you get to see and you also watch some hatch out if you're lucky. Then we went to the aquarium, which they have a lot of interesting creatures and you also get to pet stingrays.
