The hostel is created with a lot of taste and attention to detail. From the wooden tables/plots to the door handles, room arrangement and showers, all feels well thought through.
Location is great - walking distance to everything, granted downtown Clarksdale is pretty small. :)
The common space where gigs take place benefits from pretty good acoustics.
Ample parking on the street right next to the building.
Robert and Lucy are super nice and reasonable - provided detailed instructions before arrival and always made sure we had all we needed and felt at home. Had engaging conversations while there and all around provided another dimension to our stay.
First time at a Hostel and it was great experience, rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated through the entire Hostel. Welcoming and comfortable feel to it all, like your right at home. Location is the best too, just a short walk to so much history and beautiful painted buildings, and great food. You have to eat at Stone Pony!!
I stayed here during the pandemic, 2020 the owner his wife and his son were absolutely awesome. He was so welcoming and fair to everyone that came to stay regardless of their background, ethnicity, or race, or even political view; which was big during that time. I learned so much just being in that space. More than you would expect from a simple, yet beautiful hostel. His wife is strong, cultured, and so kind and a staunch humanitarian. She’s so supportive of the space and to the people that come to stay. I wish them the absolute best, and the most success. And I hope after these few years, it’s been amazing for them. I hope your stay is as awesome as mine. peace!
Unique place to stay in a town with interesting history. They put a lot into making this hostel a nice & comfortable place to stay. Plenty of space downstairs to hangout.
Belle auberge, les chambres et espaces communs son spacieux beau et propre.
Nous avons passé une nuit reposante.
A closed door on arrival at 6pm, hot outside, no one at the frontdesk. Not picking up the phone. Complaining about it made them cancel my reservation on the spot, 'because they can'. It was already paid for ($127).
This is my go to place to lay my head when I’m in the Mississippi Delta. The management is nothing short of amazing. They have a few very nice private rooms, however I always book a shared room. The beds are comfortable, and cleanliness is a 10! They have shared bathrooms for men and women that are very nice, however I use the private restroom downstairs normally. It is in close proximity to everything in town. It is definitely walking distance from all of the blues clubs and juke joints. There are several great food options in walking distance, an amazing coffee shop, and many local shops that will keep you coming back for more. And by the way, my room in a shared room is normally around $25 per night 😀
I was spending 1 night in Clarksdale on my way to a surprise birthday party in Greenwood. I couldn't stay in Greenwood and give away the surprise, so I came a little early to enjoy another spot in the Delta. I didn't really know about all the Blues and what the town was known for, but I caught up quickly. Since I was traveling by myself I wanted to stay in downtown at a fun local spot but also was clean and safe. This place was all that and more. I slept in the 6 bunk room and was glad they had little curtains on each bed. There was a place to stash my stuff out of sight, but I was the only person for that room. The shared bathroom was clean and well equipped. The kitchen had a coffee pot and all that I needed for breakfast the next day. The linens were clean. The beds were comfortable. All in all it was a fun adventure and great place to stay!
On a cold Wednesday night in January we came here after we saw a flyer a blue cotton bake shop we needed to check bad apples blues club out. And we are so happy that we did! It was a very special hart touching night with a lot of live music and histo
Go see the new sales associate Caressa for assistance. She was absolutely amazing. She made my experience of furniture shopping a whole lot easier. She was also very polite. She helped me to pick out the best furniture. I am very grateful.
Great night listening to "Reverent" Roberts. Met Stan Street as a wonderful host, working hard, like most of Clarkesdale, to keep the sound and those vibes alive. Thanks Stan!
