This is now our happy place. We sent two nights celebrating our anniversary. The customer service is personal and super friendly. They will help you with anything. The view from our balance was absolutely amazing. Great pool and toys for both ocean and pool. Even at full capacity it was quiet and beautiful.

My husband and I have been staying at the Atlantis for over a decade. This was the first vacation we took together before we were married. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here this past week. I can’t believe I haven’t written a review before— maybe it’s because the rooms book up so far in advance that it feels wise to keep it a secret! LOL||Even though I’m introverted, coming to the Atlantis feels like being part of a family. It’s very accommodating to dogs— dog people are just the very best. We especially love getting to see the reception staff— Marianna is always incredibly sweet and helpful. Jackie is a great conversationalist, and Debbie has been a fixture here since long before we started staying here. She knows everything there is to know and is an amazing resource! ||The #1 reason we love the Atlantis aside from the people is how clean it is! The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are *always* spotless. They take extensive measures for mold abatement— Ive never stayed in a mold free beachfront spot except at the Atlantis. We love that they leave “dog sheets” so that we don’t have to worry about getting the furniture furry. ||Going outdoors with the dogs, whether to the beach or the perfectly-sized dog park is also very pleasant. The Atlantis provides little dog poop shovels— if you’ve got your eyes peeled, you’ll find there’s always one within a few feet. We love being able to skip the plastic and throw their poop in the copious shrubbery. We have two big dogs, and the dog park is big enough for them to do zoomies and play the way they like to. I also notice that I don’t get too many big bites, so I wonder if they treat certain areas for mosquitoes.||At the beach, our fuzziest boy loves to enjoy the ocean breeze on his own towel-covered lounge chair under an umbrella. The people on duty at the beach are always SO sweet, polite, and accommodating. They do a great job setting up shady spots in the sand for human and canine guests. ||In-room perks: every room we’ve stayed in is great! The way the Atlantis is designed ensures every guest has a view of the ocean. All porches are equipped with chairs, a footstool, and a clothesline with clothespins. There are hangers in the little closet, a broom and flyswatter, Kleenex. A nice roomy ikea dresser is a great size for all the clothes you want to bring, and with a little rearranging of the provided dinnerware, there’s plenty of space for pantry items in the cupboards. There are plenty of lamps so the ambiance is lovely even at night (no ugly overhead fluorescents like you get in some hotels). The TV and Wi-Fi work great. Most rooms we’ve stayed in have an L shaped sofa and a pull out bed. The accordion wall is one of our favorite features of the room; it does a great job at blocking out light where the bedroom half of the room is if one person wants to stay up late or sleep in. ||It’s only on recent trips that we ventured up to the lounge area, which is pretty cool. You can’t bring dogs up there though! We renewed our vows on the top floor deck at sunset and our friends and family met us in the lounge for pizza and brownies a la mode. It was perfect. The lounge also closes at a reasonable hour, so if you’re in one of the rooms below, you won’t be kept up late by people playing pool and ping pong. ||My mom, who recently joined us for the first time here, loves lounging at the pool. Dogs are not allowed in this area, either. It’s a really pretty and serene spot. The beautiful trees overhanging provide a good amount of shade.||Thank you Atlantis, for all the treasured memories we’ve made here! We love you!

We traveled to Atlantis Lodge, booking a room for each family unit, with our 4 adult children + their kids + their dogs from July 31-Aug 4. Atlantis went to the effort to place us in adjacent rooms so that we shared the deck. Being able to mingle as a larger group out on the deck was fun and convenient. The walk to the sand from the lodge over their boardwalk which traverses the dune plantings is short. The swimming pool is smallish but very pleasingly designed, especially the very shallow section for the littlest guests, which is nicely shaded by mature trees. The most impressive part about the whole property is that it is authentic mid-century modern archietecture and furnishings, but the ownership has done a fantastic job of lovingly maintaining the property, keeping everything clean and in top working-order. Many small details were evident around the property like children's toys and beach accessories available on the patio, a misting system to cool the hot sand en route to the boardwalk from the beach, and pristine linens with sailcloth top covers provided for our pets. If I was to *search* my mind for any negatives, I can only come up with two: the WiFi was weak and the lodge is not especially close to any popular fast food venues. I cannot really fault AL for either of these, however, and overall think they have created a family beach trip jewel!|

Stayed a few nights in July. I now have a new favorite place. |Retro done right. Minimal efficiency room, perfect. Not too much, but just enough, small cook-top, {go buy a bag of fresh shrimp from some guy in a truck and boil-em" up}, fridge, micro-wave, couch, comfy chair, great bed.|Friendly staff, well-kept property. Wi-fi outstanding, the beach service is worth it in itself. |You will need a car, nothing within walking distance, {a plus IMHO}, all you will ever need within 5 minutes. |No elevator, as an arthritic Ol' man, the third floor was a chore, and I will request a ground floor next time. {I survived}.|Only one ice machine, but that is the ONLY thing I can find to pick-on,

I rarely give 5 stars across the board but this place deserves it. I cant say anything that hasn't already been said. This is a family run hotel that doesn't feel like a hotel. Feels more like a small resort. I have yet to see a Marriot with an entertainment lounge like the one I found here. The management doesn't pinch pennies. Be sure and get an efficiency/standard room. Rooms fill up very quickly so make a reservation in advance.

Love this place. We have been coming every year for quite some time. Glad to see the updates on the Mitsubishi units and the refrigerator. We had noisy upstairs people who were still noisy at 2:30 am. When I mentioned this to the office the response was some people like noise, some don't. Not the response I would have expected. We are hoping that the kitchen will be updated soon as the 2 burner units appear to be the original units and are not level and difficult to cook on. Hoping for burners where one is big and one is small, instead of 2 small ones, and that are flat, rather than the old style circular grid pattern burners. Also, this would allow you to remove the tiny fridge. The almost 50% increase in price from last year was a real budget challenge. We are looking forward to our next visit. There was a sign to reuse your towels, which is fine, yet the cleaning staff came in and replaced them in spite of the sign. August 27, 2023 An update to my previous review. We are still hoping for an improvement in the kitchen area, as mentioned above. the 2 small burners have been there since we had our dog Tabla 20 years ago, and probably are older than that. Given the price increase it would seem that the stove eyes would be updated. They are both small and wobbly and hard to cook on as they are not level. When I called the office we were told this concern has been brought to the owner's attention but no idea if this is going to be done anytime soon. PLEASE UPDATE THE STOVE AREA. October 10, 2023 Recently visited again. The decks had been updated as well as the patio area with a new gas fire table. We saw a lot of improvements. We are still hoping that the stove area will be improved. Someone had put tin foil reflector pans on the stove eyes and they were level, but they do not work very well. We also hope the tiny refrigerator will be removed as it does not make any sense to keep it since they have put a nicer refrigerator in the dining area. It would be nice to be able to cook without having to reach over the tiny fridge that sticks out. Was also glad to see clothing again in the check in area. This was greatly appreciated.

The Atlantis Lodge is such a special place! We have enjoyed each and every time we have stayed here. Over the years they continue to find ways to improve your stay by adding amenities, conveniences and small touches. Everywhere you look there's a nice extra touch, something that makes your day brighter or your stay a little easier. And feeling like our dog is just as welcome as we are is truly amazing and heart warming. We will continue to visit as often as we can. Thank you all for making this little slice of heaven available to us along the beautiful beaches of Carteret County, NC.

Being a guest feels like you are family. The seating areas around the property were great for the ocean views. This property is tucked away and a true gem in the area. Pet friendly as well. Will definitely be back!
