The Gyro meat was not very seasoned, but the chicken meat was a little bit better. I ordered the gyro platter and it came with meat and hummus on the side but I didn’t get any cucumbers or tomatoes for the hummus so I went to ask to buy some, but they gave it to me at no charge, which was a nice touch. The Tzatziki sauce tasted like they used ranch dressing as the base and the Greek salad tasted like it had thousand island dressing on it. The hummus was average, and did not taste any better than what you could buy off of the shelf from the grocery store. The restaurant and seating area was a little dirty, and we had to wipe off our table. The service was however, friendly, prompt, and personable.
First time having a gyro. I had the value meal and it was GOOD. support your local businesses. My good was out within 5 minutes of ordering. Very prompt and friendly service!!!
“Gyros are delicious. This was a combo meal and it was 😩😩. The fries were not salty but very seasoned. The gyro was big and good. The meat was amazing. The meat was lamb I think and it’s very easy to chew and does not have a strong bloody taste. The vegetables were delicious but there was a little too much raw onions to my liking. All the flavors mix well in the mouth. The building was a little dirty. The person was very nice. Overall I would rate 9/10.” (Instagram: @sarah_aesthetics20 To see more reviews at different places.)
Great pita chips. Was once known for great gyros. Not up to standards. Meat not consistently hot, lettuce and tomatoes at the bottom of pita pocket. Who puts black pepper on a gyros? This and the lukewarm warm fries ruined this experience
All around solid restaurant for Mediterranean cuisine. The flavor and bang for buck factor here are hard to beat, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. The staff were friendly but the interior atmosphere was a bit dingy and outdated. The falafel were crispy and delicious, though lacked flavor compared to other falafel I’ve had. The hummus was rich and satisfying but a bit too runny. The star of the show was the Athena chicken, which was well-marinated, grilled to have a slight char, and very tender, juicy, and flavorful especially alongside the sautéed onions and banana peppers. The portion was enough for a full lunch and leftovers for dinner. The pecan pastry was also a standout item, notable for how sweet, flaky, and buttery it was. The chocolate almond roll was a bit dry, as if it had been out too long. Overall I think 4 stars for this place is very fair; I’ve had better, but I did not regret eating here. Some items were just okay, others were great.
The salad was amazing and so were the crispy falafels. However their chicken and lamb plates were not good. The chicken was over cooked, hard and dry enough to leave a dent on the tab if thrown! But the hummus was good. Would go again only for appetizers. And not for main course. Also the desserts weren’t as good. They were way too sweet for even a bite.
This place has been serving up the same great food for decades. It's a bit of a hole in the wall, maybe a little run down, but definitely not dirty or unwelcoming. The people that work here have always been supremely kind. Everything on the menu is great. Portions are huge. Everything is fresh. We swing by whenever we have the chance. Every other gyro I've had in my life has been but an imitation of what they make here at Athens Cafe. If the scenery unnerves you, just get it to go. You'll be glad you did.
Athens Cafe is a staple for me. It’s a small cafe located in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. It’s not fancy, just a few tables if you want to eat inside. I started going there in 2009 and the food has been consistently good over the years. I no longer live in Minneapolis, Minnesota but when I come to town to visit family I make it one of my stops! I had the Greek Chicken Salad, ok well I always have the Greek Chicken Salad because it’s just that good. Large chunks of chicken on lettuce with cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, banana peppers and olives if you choose. It also comes with Pita bread. The portion is amazing and the salad dressing is the star. As far as price, it has gone up since I first started going there but what hasn’t especially after Covid. I hope they never change the recipe because it is a winner and with the drive.
One of the most fun and interactive dining experiences Iâve ever had! The food was just as tasty as a fancy Michelin star but Iâll remember this meal so much more. And the staff was great. Canât recommend enough!
Wanted to try a new coffee shop and saw they had frappes here so I'm like let me find a new favorite. Mine was delicious and tasted much cleaner or pure than one would be from a McDonald's or whatnot. Plenty flavor options and they look like they hav
It was so beautiful there! People were playing softball, some having picnics, fishing. Nice trail to walk. Parking was great! Awesome that there are garbage cans around since my dog did her thing and I didn't have to carry it far. LOL Very peaceful!
I canât believe it took me this long to check this place out! The vibe was cool and chill! The beverage menu was comprehensive and had something for everyone. Iâll be back for the sweet happy hour specials for sure. Variety of options on the foo

Fantastic Flavorful Food!!! It was a delight coming in to eat here. The drunken noodles were fantastic. The Thai fried rice was fantastic. We will definitely be back. Out of 10 I would give it a 9. It surprised us so much. Thank you for the meal!
This supermarket is AMAZING. So they have many products most importantly many high end and then some huge value private label. The staff and service is so professional and every staff member goes out of their way to get whatever you need or help you
