Atascadero Inn - Motel in Atascadero - 6505 Morro Rd, USA

Check in was easy. Friendly. Accommodating to my mother's movement abilities. But... My mother said her bed had sand in it. The bath floor had sand on it. The people in the room above us played rap (music) ALL night, then the TV came on and played loudly until 7am. I guess people have no care about others anymore.

On the positive side ....... The place is better than Motel 6 in Pismo but not up to a Holiday Inn Express level. The beds were comfortable enough. The room was reasonably clean. The Air Conditioning was great. The room had a decent flatscreen TV, a microwave, and a mini-fridge. The coffeemaker was a real mini-sized coffeemaker. The location was awesome for us because the A-Town Diner was only a half mile away. The shower was fine. It was quiet, not counting one night when some moose walked around on the second floor above us. Being right on the 41 we took our trip out to Morro Bay that we needed to (for a funeral). Being right on the 101 it was easy to get up to Paso Robles and wineries. And the key factor for choosing this location was that it was Dog Friendly. That said, "Dog Friendly" requires you to pay an extra $20 per night and sign off on a bunch of extra rules about damage and not leaving the dog in the room alone, and that's not on the website.||.......||On the negative side ........ The water was kinda cloudy. The toilet and the sink drained slowly. Three doors down from us were some of the friendliest meth addicts. (To each their own. It wasn't a problem.) There was an outside trash can - the 32-gallon R2D2 shape can. The trash can was full the first two days of our three day stay - an obvious thing to remedy that they didn't. There is no pool. The guy behind the counter was friendly. ||.......||Would we go back? We probably wouldn't because the Adelaide Inn in Paso Robles is much better (but it doesn't take dogs), and the Worldmark Pismo is awesome, if you can get into it (but again, no dogs). But for this one trip, we thought it was okay. A light three stars, but I wouldn't trash this place like some of the other reviews.

For the price, it's 5 stars for sure. - It's so affordable, and it's an inn. There is a manager who is here 24/7 on-site if you need help. - It is safe. No. I didn't see the weird people or criminal activity that some people suggested. Yes, there is noise until bedtime, but I could not hear them much afterwards. - The place is decent in terms of cleanliness. Not perfect as it's somewhat outdated, but the cleaners obviously did their best in cleaning this place! - AC worked. Heater worked. It's decently comfortable. For the price, it's a steal, and I didn't keep an unrealistic expectation as if it was a Hilton or Marriott.

This manager was so rude I could not believe he is allowed to work with the public!! I walked up to check in I was informed I had a early check in,he told me if I paid him $45 more and a $20 deposit then he would let me, I'm 65 and handicapped and hard to walk, I said how much total more do you want? Then he said I was rude and he was not going to let me have my room that I had paid for on line $125. He also said he was keeping my money!!! He is stealing money from a senior citizen. I was so confused how can he get away stealing money, DON'T STAY AT ATASCADERO INN WORST PLACE IN TOWN!! The manager needs to learn some manners! Rude person at counter. Hilerie Lanning

I just have to say that after reading these one and two start ratings, I cannot believe they actually stayed at this motel! My wife and I rented a room from them, on the ground floor and haven't slept that well in some time. Clean room, comfortable bed, and friendly professional staff. Would recommend this motel to anyone!

We stayed for just one night. It was late so we walked up and they had vacancy for us and our pups as we were traveling and needed somewhere quick to stay. Everyone at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Anytime we had a question, someone was there to help us right away. The rooms were much more spacious than we thought, clean, comfortable bedding and had everything we needed. It was overall a great stay for us and our pups!

When arriving at the hotel room it didn’t seem very clean. We’ve stayed at many hotels across the US on our many road trips and know if it doesn’t appear clean, then always check the bedding. The sheets and pillows here were filthy. We cancelled and booked another hotel. It was gross.

We rated this a four. Overall we really enjoyed this stay. The guy at the front was nice, they extended our check out time by 30 minutes. The pillows were outrageously comfortable. The only reason why we took away a star was because the fan in the bathroom and A/C were both so loud. And the sheets and comforters were super thin. We used one bed and took the sheets and comforters from the other bed. This hotel is super close to the movie theater which was also a plus.
