Astoria in Addison is our preferred late-night hangout spot. With its inviting indoor seating, pleasant outdoor area, and a designated smoking section, it caters to diverse preferences. The staff is exceptional, contributing to the establishment's calming ambiance, making it an ideal spot for people-watching. Nestled in a prime location, Astoria offers a wide variety of bakery items, drinks, and finger foods, ensuring there's something for everyone. Their creative spiked drinks add an extra flair to the experience. The beautiful ambiance, coupled with regularly updated seasonal menus, keeps our visits exciting. Notably, this review is unsponsored – I genuinely believe Astoria is a gem that deserves every bit of appreciation. Highly recommended for a memorable hangout experience.
Cute local cafe serving coffee, wine, and food. It’s small and quaint, there’s plenty of outdoor seating. They’re known for their paninis. We ordered the speciality fall coffee—the caramel macchiato and the cinnamon roll mocha. You can add coffee liqueur for an additional $8 😳. We ordered bruschetta to share, a Reuben panini, Italian prosciutto panini, and a croffle. The Reuben was good, there was Corned Beef, Sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, Mayo and Mustard. The mustard and sourness of the sauerkraut hits you, I liked it because it’s an acquired taste for me. The Italian Procuitto had Thin sliced Prosciutto and mozzarella sprinkled with parmesan cheese and I added pesto sauce and tomato. It could use more Procuitto and mozzarella imo. their breads for the panini are too crunchy and hard that the roof of my mouth hurts. Like others said, overpriced for this kind of quality. The bruschetta was good but nothing amazing, the pesto is over powering and things kind of fall apart since the pieces are big and not bit sized. Overall the coffee is very good, the food is overpriced but since it’s a walkable cafe with nothing else near, it’s worth to grab some lunch. The bill was around $90 after tips for 3 entrees, 1 app, and 2 drinks.
We come here quite often and love the atmosphere. The coffee is great and we love the European style layout. It's the only cafe where you can sit and enjoy a coffee and cigarette.
Such a wonderfully charming, inviting, and lovely cafe! My fiancée and I only discovered Astoria a few weeks ago but have been coming back at least once a week for a late night drink and to enjoy each others company while taking in Astoria’s welcoming atmosphere, wonderful service, and exquisite food and drinks! We highly, highly recommend the charcuterie board for a light snack, and their espresso martini, which is to DIE for!
The food was pretty good, but in my opinion, a bit overpriced. Also the atmosphere is cute but their outside seating for some reason has flies everywhere that were really annoying. I want to ask that they fix that as soon as possible because it really put a damper on our visit.
We used to just adore this place because it is so "charming" and European feeling. However.... the service has gone downhill... especially by the owner who is just rude. It was like he was doing us a favor letting us buy something from him. I ordered a Cappuccino with the lemon cake... bur the coffee never came... the pizza (they call it flatbread), was undercooked and tasteless. We asked for them to heat it up, bur the cheese was not even melted. I am sad to say that I am not motivated to return, no matter how cute the environment is. Plus, it is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE.
This place has been an Addison stable since before I moved to DFW 10+ years ago. It really embodies the European/French cafe style that so few places in DFW do. I did not eat during this visit, but the cocktails were great, and the ambiance was cozy. The wine list of wines by the glass are shorter than some winebats, but they looked like they had some interesting options.
Astoria is a slice of European culinary delicacy. The freshness of both the atmosphere and ingredients brings the dishes to life. I recommend the breakfast and brunch experience, and perhaps swing by for dessert and coffee after a meal and walk through Addison circle. Pros: - fresh ingredients - comfortable seating - inviting atmosphere - accommodating and friendly staff - involved and considerate management - indoor and outdoor seating options Cons: - limited indoor seating for adverse weather - slow turnover rate for waiting on tables - forgetful with orders and drinks Overall I highly recommend this place.
