The location of this hotel is perfect. I would give 5 stars if I was only rating it based on location and view. If you have an ocean front room, your view is amazing and you can see the ocean all day. The hotel itself is very outdated. It was built in the 60s and it seems like they haven’t updated anything since then. There are no screen door on the balcony, no fan in the bathroom, there is no space in shower for putting your items (no soap holders), the shower floor had stains in the grout, no cabinet storage in the bathroom for your toiletries and the two that are there are where they place your clean towels, you can hear the elevator open and close outside your room in the hallway all night, the AC unit is loud, the water pressure in the shower and toilet are very bad, and there were no extra blankets in the closet. The hallways outside your room and inside the elevator always smelled musty and/or of body odor. If you plan on spending a lot of time in your room, stay elsewhere because these rooms are extremely small. If you don’t care about your room’s modernity or size, then this hotel is perfect for you because of the view and location. Parking is also $45 per night, even though the front desk agent told me when I checked in that I was receiving a discounted rate of $10 per night. That was not true, my bill at check-out stated otherwise. I would only return for the view.

Okay, the place is doable. The rooms are uniquely shaped, and apart from that, they are all decent and the same. The front desk never seems happy, rarely greeting you... paid $1000 for 4 nights, nearly worth it for the location, but the hidden fees really made it 1120 for 4 nights. My three chief complaints are: -We paid extra for a full view of the ocean, and they stuck us on the side with a partial view. -Hidden fee city, they tack-on a ~$30/ night "amenities fee" that seems predatory. Apart from the wifi, none of the included amenities are things we would have wanted... one of the water bottles they charge $10 had a hole in the bottom. - the doors to the rooms automatically slam and guests are mostly too stupid to not let them shake the whole building Some other cons: TV wouldn't change channels. AC leaks nasty water on you when you walk into the balcony. If I were doing this again, I would have stayed at one of the bigger/ modern hotels down the way with a pool. This place was built in 1960s and you can tell when housekeeping is slamming doors frequently while waking in/out of the same room....very audible from inside closed room. Updated the image for my "full ocean view" that cost me ~$40 extra/ night.

Having spent countless nights in a variety of Waikiki properties: Sheraton, Moana Surfrider, Royal Hawaiian, Waikiki Marriott, Surfjack, Halekulani and Outrigger to name a few, we have come to adore the old school vibe, exceptional location, friendly staff and great views this property offers. The Circle does not have the same amenities as the properties mentioned above, which is in part why a stay at the Circle feels so unencumbered and relaxing. There are plenty of rooms with great views to be had at this property, and because it is more of a boutique offering with limited amenities, it represents a great value for this amazing location. We spend the bulk of our days and evenings exploring the area, so we don't need the same number of bells and whistles less active travelers may be seeking. We find the Circle to be a wonderful "home base" for surfing, shopping, dining and enjoying all that Waikiki has to offer. Awesome GM, great staff and a wonderful place from which to explore Oahu.

The Aston circle hotel is located in an amazing location. It is affordable and comfortable, for me a hotel room is just somewhere to sleep. I don’t need fancy just clean and functional. Only thing that would make this place better is if hotel guests were given priority at eggs n things for breakfast.

Stayed for 5 nights and 6 days. I felt it was a nice hotel and the price was fine for the location. We had a partial ocean view room Which was nice. We enjoyed sitting in the balcony listening to the sounds of the beds were small but we managed. It would have been nice to have a king size bed. The rooms were small but it was fine we didn’t need the large space. Being able to open the glass doors wide to enjoy the balcony views was awesome. I would recommend and stay again. Knowing the history of the hotel made it better. The staff were super friendly and I had no problem the whole stay. Parking is limited so we were thankful we had a reserved spot. Access to the beach was perfect.

Pros: Can’t beat the location. Access to the beach is great. Some rooms have great views of the beach. The staff were friendly. Cons: There are many!! There is no lobby. No breakfast. No microwave in rooms. Parking is limited, expensive and inconvenient. The rooms are EXTREMELY small and so are the showers. The bed was hard. It felt like sleeping on an ironing board. The pillows were thin and uncomfortable. This is a great place for young people with no rental car and no kids. I can’t recommend it for anyone else.
