Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites and Convention Center - Featured Reviews (1349)
We had booked this hotel prior to learning about the new management. We traveled as a family and had booked the executive suite king bed room. ||Pros:|- Clean|- Room was large and comfortable and had balcony |- Grounds are large and beautiful to walk around |- Pool available|- Friendly staff at Luna Cafe||Cons:|- It sounds like from the other reviews, the quality has really cheapened under new management. For example, they give you minimal items and they are poor in quality like the thin, difficult to use toilet paper. The hand soap was so challenging to use we actually went out and purchased normal hand soap from the grocery store. ||- Housekeeping: the rooms and grounds are all clean and they have a very robust and hardworking housekeeping team. But with housekeeping every 1 in 3 days, for our 5 day stay we only had housekeeping once. ||- Breakfast: this was one of the biggest disappointments and also surprising that it was this bad, even for a free meal. For anyone who doesn't want limited options of greasy or high sugar foods, then you are out of luck. I thought I would be able to have either a hardboiled egg or plain yogurt or fruit or toast with some decent jam, but they didn't even have those. Minimal options and everything is just fat and processed sugar. After the first morning, we did not go back for breakfast again. ||Summary:|We made the best of the stay given there are some good aspects of it, but will not return.
The hotel staff were great, the place was so clean and engaging. The continental breakfast had a variety of offerings. Our room was very comfortable. The balconies off each room are a treat. We had a very nice stay and hope to have an excuse to go back soon.
Excellent value. Quite rooms, comfy beds, excellent water pressure in showers, spacious room, great continental breakfast, really nice cafe/restaurant (a little upscale prices for a sort of cafeteria style, but great food/atmosphere/service), easy check in and good customer service. Highest recommendations for travelers.
We stayed at Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites in a double queen suite. The hotel itself has beautiful decor, the staff were helpful and kind and the pool/hot tub were a welcome spot in the hot evening. The room was well appointed with a kitchenette, comfortable lounge area and small table, the bedroom area was a good size for our family of four, and the bathroom was clean and also a good size. Included breakfast had a decent range of choices. I would recommend this for families and groups visiting the area, a short drive from downtown and comfortable rooms and great amenities
Great hotel with large rooms. Clean. Comfortable. Had a first floor room just off the pool with a patio sitting area. Pool clean and perfect for a morning swim. Hot tub HOT! Excellent stay. Highly recommended. P.s. stayed across the street at Best Western after this stay and was sorely disappointed. Wished my stay was longer at Ashland Hills. More of a vacation get away setting then a roadside hotel stop. Price competitive. Breakfast room and selection was ideal and satisfying. Having a bar and restaurant on property was very nice too. Try it, think you'll be pleasantly surprised and content. If I return to this area...will stay again.
The hotel is right off the 5. It's not in walking distance of downtown ashland but a moments drive. This makes it a quiet location. It's so quiet that you rarely ever hear other guests in the rooms around you or in the hallway. It's an older hotel, so it needs some minor updates/fixes. For example, not all buttons on the phone work, controls in the secondary room only work sometimes, and the dresser doesn't stay closed. We switched rooms, and both rooms had the same issues (was not the reason why we switched). They were too minor for us to really care. AC works! What bothered me was minimal toiletries supplied when rooms are only cleaned every 36 hours. We were able to rectify this after talking to the front desk. Breakfast is bare, but at least there's breakfast.
First time here and everything was wonderful except their coffee. That is not enough to keep us away. The beautiful clean quiet room and great staff made up for it. The room had comfortable beds and sitting area. The shower was the best we have had in a hotel. Nice job.
This place is lovely and has very pretty walking paths. Bed is comfortable and the room is large with a kitchenette. It has been quiet and the area around it has been quiet. There is a pool and hot tub in the central courtyard with a play area and tennis courts nearby. There are plenty of areas to lounge and relax. There is a fitness room and laundry should you need it. Great breakfast buffet and the housekeeping staff has been friendly and helpful.
