Ashintully Gardens is free and open to the public during the regular season from April to November between sunrise and sunset. Plenty of parking on the lawn is available. A map of the loop trail is available online and on a pair of prominent kiosks. No dogs or picnics are allowed on this property. Professional photographers hoping to conduct portrait photoshoots must contact The Trustees and become members of the organization. I highly encourage anyone who enjoys hiking to visit this secluded site.
Beautiful nature preserve and gardens with open vistas of Berkshires. Walking path to Tytus mansion ruins adds the charm to the experience. No problem with parking on summer weekday. The only missing element of the puzzle is absence of public restrooms of any kind. The place is quite magical in a good weather.
Amazing location, probably one of my new favorites for photography spots. From where we come from its a little bit of a drive but crazy worth it. Definitely coming back because there is so much to see in this area. The hike is not a long or vigorous one, which makes it perfect for getting to where you want to be. A short climb up the mountain and you are in the heart of the abandoned mansion. Upon your decent there is other ruins and eventually you are met with a garden with some old relics. I was very happy to find this place and the kids loved it too!
Beautiful piece of property. Would have liked to have seen more gardens with flowers.
Easy hike and a real neat experience at the end, seeing the old ruins of this mansion. You can see pictures of the original house inside the barn, if you can get in. The entrance to the trail was a little hard to find, but just go behind the barn. It's not a typical trail so you're walking on grass and you'll start to find paths.
What a “hidden gem!” We were the only ones visiting. It was so beautiful and interesting to find an untouched run. Slightly dangerous for little kids if not watched closely.
A hidden gem, Ashintully Gardens is free, beautiful, and easy to visit!
Beautiful public gardens. The hike to the "Marble House" ruins is along a clearly labeled wooded path. We were able to take a baby in a jogging stroller with us as well. Going clockwise the incline is less steep. After completing the loop, the manicured lawns amongst the tall trees and meandering creek provided a perfect backdrop to a relaxing afternoon stroll. On a weekday in mid May, we saw only one other couple here.
This place was recommended and it was really great! Really nice hike, went counter clockwise. The beginning is a steady up hill will say on the moderate level. Definitely need some cardio in you but once you get to the top the views are really pretty
