Have eaten here several times. The menu is unique, the food is great and the servers are nice. The best thing about this location is the view on the back porch overlooking the river. Most recently, we had the housemade biscuits with different jams, the Power Brekky (or something like that) and the Cali Burrito.
I do not understand the hype, the food was terrible. I went to brunch with my wife and ordered the ham and cheese. That was the worst ham and cheese I had in years. Look at the picture. Two tiny slices of ham and the cheese was non existent. But, the worst part were the fries. Cold and old. Rather than suffer in silence, which I almost always do, I politely pointed it out and the server gave me a new order - all they did was refry them, so they were old and hot, but not crispy. I pointed it out again and... they were nice to give me a "discount" because of the inedible fries. I guess that was nice (sarcasm). I will not return. Oh well.
Good : Great indoor and outdoor and coffee place is located next to river like cherry on top . Water came in a fancy way , loved it . Sever is good . Attention & service is given to customer by employee.
Bad : Coffee was average to begin with. No creamer they were out and added some oat stuff that made it taste horrible . Coffee was given in paper cup than real cup , however they have tons of cup for decor , expected some fancy foam on my cup top with good creamy rich taste and expectation ruined and bad coffee taste made it worse by oat stuff .
To me it’s like having Bad coffee in a fancy place where nice people serve .
A cozy little full-service spot nestled next to the Trinity. I dined with my trusty canine on the dog friendly patio. The granola bowl was light and hit the spot. My sweet potato hash with fried egg was the perfect accompaniment. A mimosa, hot flat white (made perfectly!), and an iced lavender latte topped it all off. Everything was served promptly and made perfectly. If you like coffee, brunch, and patios - check this place out! Ask for Schuyler and tell her I sent you! 😁
the food was great! loved the chorizo fries. outdoor seating was pretty, but very cramped so you were uncomfortably close to the table next to you.
I love the names of their menu items.
in a dog friendly area, but I would not bring my dog inside. outdoor seating would be best.
the price adds up if you don't pay attention, so depending on what you get, it can be pretty expensive.
overall though, it was a good time with good food.
Oh my gosh, what a beautiful coffee joint. Walked in, took a seat and a waitress came along to take our order. We sat outside and overlooked the Trinity River. Matcha Latte and Lavender Latte were made to perfection. The food was definitely worth the price and freshly made. The croissant on my sandwich was light, fluffy and flaky. The server was knowledgeable and knew immediately which items were out of stock on the menu- which I appreciate. Because no one likes to place an order then come to find out, it's out.
We were a group of five. Arrived at 11:20. We first had some mimosas before ordering our food. Then we had food and another round of mimosas. After eating and paying my friends and I were chatting and a manager walks over and asked us to get up and leave because they had another party waiting. We’ve never been to a girls brunch any where in Fort Worth and get asked to leave. If you’re going to chat with friends (which is what a coffee shop is meant for) this is not the place. It was so embarrassing. We will never come back. The food was horrible anyways. Food was cold and tasted like it was sitting out for a while.
I go to Ascension quite regularly. Most of the staff greet me by name and all of them are incredibly welcoming. They have probably the best lavender latte I've ever had, and their drip coffee is delightful too. The food is incredibly delicious, you get a good portion, and it gets out to your table in a very reasonable amount of time. If it's a nice day, enjoy the sunshine on their patio that overlooks the Trinity River and bike path. I always reccomend this place to anyone that wants a nice brunch/lunch with a good cup of quality coffee. It's priced in the mid-range, but it's incredibly fair to the area and quality of product!
