Horrible. The smell immediately upon entering is reminiscent of if you took fifteen dogs out to a slough with stagnant, mossy water, let them swim in it for an hour, then brought them back and let those wet dogs sleep in the hallways, then turned the heat to 90° to really bake that stench into the carpet. The rooms were not an improvement, so if you are in any way allergic to dogs (or don't enjoy smelling wet ones all night), avoid this place like the plague. There was nobody up front in the office the entire two days I was here - there's just a doorbell that says "ring for service." No breakfast, obviously - but if you like smelling like egg salad sandwiches, this is the place for you because the water reeks of rotten eggs. Brushing your teeth is a nightmare because the faucet barely reaches over the sink so you slam your toothbrush into the back of the sink every time. You don't even want to put the toothbrush in your mouth because of how rancid the water smells. It's horrendous. Not sure what the point of having a fridge in the room would be if housekeeping unplugs and opens it every day so it's warm when you check in. Stupid. The 70s wood paneling on the walls is just swell. The lights are pretty much worthless. I'm guessing the bulbs are 5 watt. The only saving grace was that the air conditioner actually cooled the room; still, if I could give zero stars, I would.

No. Just, no. Listen, I can find the charm in just about anything. I have stayed in many roadside motels during many different road trips all over North America. I don’t even expect much.. just cleanliness, friendliness, and a general feeling of “someone gives a sh*t about this property.” You will find none of these here. I was not the one who went to the office to check in but I was informed that it was not an extremely pleasant or informative interaction. When entering the building you’re met with a certain kind of decor, which is fine, what isn’t fine is the smell that matches. Old, dank, stale, and a little bit of mildew mixed with old cigarette smoke. You know what, I could have looked passed that. I’m not sleeping in the hallway. BUT.. we then got to our room. Is it completely outdated? Yes. Did it have clean bedding? That was very questionable, but I would say the top covers haven’t seen detergent in awhile. Did it have hot water? Nope. Not even a little. Not even warm. Not even after running the shower for 20 mins to see if it would heat up. Did it have a mini fridge that we really needed to cool the stuff sitting in our iceless cooler all day? Yes.. was it plugged in, working, and cool when we got in the room? No, but I did plug it in and it sort of cooled down by the morning. Did it have mouse poop on the dresser? Yes. Yes it did. I get this is a small town and this particular establishment caters more to the “outdoorsy folk who fish and hunt” .. but no hot water and mice is just not ok for anyone who spends money to sleep there. We would have left if the only two other properties were an option. The one with higher ratings was sold out and the other had worse ratings than this place did. We figured we didn’t want risk the unknown. I didn’t bother going to management with the issues as I assume it wasn’t a secret and these issues were just not a concern for them. Plus, what we’re they going to do? Suddenly provide us with a hot shower and call an exterminator at 9pm? Clearly not. Another room wouldn’t have changed these issues either. Plus, these are things that should not have been an issue to begin with. Something that could have be taken care of long before the mice felt comfortable enough to poop on tabletops and dressers. I seriously contemplated sleeping in my car. I would have if my Mazda was bigger and I didn’t just drive for 8 hours. Moral of the story, if you’re comfortable paying for a place to clean up and sleep that doesn’t provide on demand hot water, has freeloading furry guests, and doesn’t look like it was cleaned in this century, then by all means, stay here. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to rest and don’t want to keep driving to the next town that has lodging, trust me, just keep driving. Don’t look back. Oh, I should mention that one of the 4 of us was able to have a warm shower the next day. That was nice for her, I’m sure. I wouldn’t know because it wasn’t me.
Location is dated. Room was clean and everything was fine. Pricing is good. I would have greatly appreciated coffee being made, but there's a gas station across the intersection. Good place to stay.

Our receipt shows address: 2291 Hwy 3 NE STE B-Harvey, ND||The hotel is located on a corner and is an older one level hotel. The rooms were very clean. The gentleman at the check in counter was very friendly and professional. We stayed one night and were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the beds were. The restaurant was not operating so we went down town for breakfast at the local cafe and it was good.
EXCELLENT customer service, room and bathroom were clean, internet connection was great, attached restaurant/bar was nice and I was happy to not have to venture out into the blizzard to get food. A previous review mentioned they are updating the rooms... I think I got one of the non-updated rooms since the place filled up due to a huge blizzard, and it took a few hours for the room to warm up from the baseboard heater, but extra blankets were available and everything else was great. Nice big parking lot. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Also this hotel is nice and quiet. I spent the previous 2 nights in the Jamestown Super 8, and definitely prefer the Artos.
