Not recommended! We reserved our romm over 300 days ago and the check in lady said she couldn't pull up reservations that far back...even with our reservation number.Hotel was disgusting. No sheet on the bed, floors and walls were gross, smelt bad, bathroom was worse than a dirty gas station bathroom. No towels,we asked the lady at the desk check in if they offered Military discount and she said "the hotel is owned by an Arab so no". Definitely not a place I would stay. We went back after our event grabbed anything we took in and just went home.
To be honest- it's really not such a bad place as people perceive it to be.
The parking lot and both the main and side door entrances are very well-lit.
The location is good. It's within walking distance directly from the front of the building to the two Metro bus stops on 40 hwy. Convenient driving distance to fast food, the KC metro bus transfer loop across from McDonald's on Van Brunt, gas stations and a DG not too far east from it.
*Stay aware of walking alone in the area, as most people usually do in any given neighborhood.. day or night. I myself don't walk alone after dark or at least not too much after anyways. (Even with some type of protection on me)
Place looked like it was being renovated. There were mattresses leaning against the wall in the lobby. Shady AF people came out of nowhere while we were checking in. There were 4 of them behind us looking in our direction. I noticed them when I looked up at the security monitor (through the plexiglass and bars). Placed my duffle bag in front of me and got my phone out, ready to call 911 if needed. We hurried to our room down the hall. Once inside, we locked the door, and my husband did a sweep of the room. The walls looked like they had 40 coats of spackle and paint. The bathroom switch was old-school push-button. Linens were clean but we didn't dare open our luggage and we slept in the clothes we came in. I didn't see rats or bugs because I wasn't looking for them... I gave up finding anything else worse that when what I had already experienced. If it wasn't freezing outside, I would have slept in our vehicle, or a tent, or on the ground in the woods.
Had old dirty sheets on my bed. A layer of some kind of something on the walls. My tubs hot water handle was broken off and I kept the top off the toilet the whole time in order to flush it.
After booking tickets to see Stevie Nick's at Arrowhead Stadium, I ignorantly forgot to book a hotel room. Coming from Joplin, Missouri on the day of the concert almost every hotel was completely booked. We find this place and I'm desperate and thinking ok, I don't care about decor or need anything fancy, as long as the place is safe and bug free I'm good. The guy who checked us in was super friendly and helpful! The rooms were definitely outdated, the linens seemed clean but stained. I didn't see not 1 bug at anytime we were there👍it was super quiet and we felt safe. My biggest complaint was after returning from the concert and a few casinos at 3am the lobby doors were locked( which there was a sign saying that they are locked at 9:30 pm and to ring bell for entry), no biggie, but after like ringing for over 5 minutes to get in so we could go to our room, a younger lady came with a mop bucket. We showed our room key and she looked very irritated with us. She unlocked the door, but absolutely refused to let us walk down the hallway to our room. She told us, I just mopped the entire floor and you aren't walking on my mopped floors.. she made us go up to the next floor and go back down to the other floor to get to our room. She was so rude. When we checked out, the attendant was very nice. So to sum it up, if you want a super clean room and updated this isn't the place for you. I'm not uptight about those things so I was happy with my stay. It met my NEEDS and that's what mattered. But that lady who works overnights needs an attitude adjustment or a different job.
IT WAS SUCH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The front desk lady deserves so much more than what she does. She gave us a deal on a room, we went up there to find someone was staying in there or the house keeping did not clean. We went back down to tell her, we sat on lobby and she gave us a new room. When we looked that that room I was completely over the whole experience. There was bodily fluid on sheets and bed, it was so dirty and smelt horrible. The front desk lady tried to help us out and give us a better room, she was so sweet but I couldn’t be there anymore. Random man was walking around the hotel with no shoes pulling a container throughout the hallway with a rope. There was teenage kids arguing trying to fight. Just avoid this hotel completely. You get what you pay for, but even $70 is too much to be there. I actually slept in my car how bad it truly was.
I was born and raised in Kansas City, so I knew that the area was bad. My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay last minute before we headed out of town. We got there and there was literal rat poop all over the floors and in the drawers. The shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. There was water damage and smoke stains all over the walls. Not to mention the awful smell coming from the fridge. Being eight months pregnant at this time, I knew we couldn’t stay there. I was scared I was going to get mugged even just walking to my car. We had only been in the room for maybe 15 minutes and they refused to give us a refund. I knew the reputation of the area, but really didn’t think it could be this awful. It’s definitely a junkie hotspot. Like this is the kind of please people get murdered at. Or just go to smoke crack/ meth or shoot up heroin. Please, think about your safety. Staying here is literally putting your life at risk. And the staff just doesn’t seem to give a sh*t about it.
Front desk employee's are nice, accommodating and efficient. There is a mini fridge and microwave in my room, small table two chairs. My favorite feature is the big windows. They slide open!! It's quiet. They have been remodeling. I was here about 2 years ago.
This is the place to be in KC. My husband and I had such an amazing experience at The Truitt. We loved everything about it. We loved the unique and luxurious decor, the ease of parking, comfort of the room and how easy it was to walk to the art museu
Large well appointed room in a great location to walk to the Art Museum. Very clean easy to check-in and out and nice common areas. Very comfortable bed and temperature control was perfect. Great hot shower. Private secure parking inside the fence
Very good service and staff. Everyone in the front counter was incredibly friendly, as well as the people from the service. Installations are clean, comfortable, in a very good state. Included wifi and guest laundry were a good bonus. And complementa
The room was wonderful and the breakfast was very nice. Everyone was very good to us. It was the best place we stayed over the course of our cross country trip. We liked the way that it seemed to match up with the vibe of the downtown. Our room was v
I absolutely love staying at 44 and coming to visit my friends. Although I am an employee of BMG, had I found this community on my own, I have no doubt I would have fallen in love with the community and staff. They have the best events and the best r
First of all we love the name! Two Sugars in Kansas City is such a cute name and coffee shop. We loved our latte and conversation with the owner. Iâll definitely be back to try their matcha!
I've dropped into the 11:30am class several times. Fantastic community, coaching, and workouts. Clean showers and bathrooms. Ample equipment and parking. Everyone I met was welcoming and interactive. The community has been together for many years and
I donât know how I would have made it through my pregnancy without the classes at Full Circle Yoga KC. My older sister also went to Jenny Hellman for two of her pregnancies and when I told her I was having trouble finding good and affordable prenat
