My goodness. We (family of 6!) stayed there in June 2000! Our 1st experience in the US. We were given great advice how to feed 4 hungry kids US style (worked well over the next year!)
The quality that you get for the price that you pay is incredible. The staff at Arnott’s is dedicated to exceptional service, and their friendly attitudes are a welcoming presence upon check-in. The facilities cater to all - from budget friendly campers, to those looking to splurge on a little more luxury, and everything in between. The location is perfect, nestled back only about five minutes away from town, and allows you to have a little retreat away from the hum of beautiful Hilo town. We love staying with Arnott’s and will definitely be back in the future!
My fiancée and I took a trip to Hilo, Hawaii last September for our 3 year anniversary. During this time, we booked with Arnott's Lodge and Hiking Adventures for the Mauna Kea and Stargazing tour. It was such as memorable trip, as our tour guide Donna was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Donna was such a big advocate for great pictures, and even gave the group tips on how to take better pictures with night mode. She was often the first to offer taking photos. With that being said, I really appreciated her knowledge on constellations and the observatories. As a big lover of the stars, I was enamored by the sights and her stories on each one. Lastly and I think the most important when visiting different locations is I felt incredibly safe with Donna. Her driving on the mountain, selection of parking, and taking the stool down with every location to help with the difference in height b/t the van and the ground meant everything to me. I also like the way in which the company was so prepared for the cold - everyone associates Hawaii with warmth and it is truly is a place of Ohana. But, on the mountain, my best friends were the hat and mittens bought at the gift store, my fiancée, and the coats provided by Arnott's Lodge. Because of this wonderful experience, I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone and everyone! Mahalo Donna for such an incredible experience on the Big Island. My fiancée and I cannot wait to visit again!
We went up to Mona Kea Summit to catch the sunset with tour guide Donna on Valentine's Day and we had the most amazing time. Donna was such a fantastic tour guide, she was so friendly and knowledgeable. She shared so much about the history of the mountain and life of the Hawai'ian people. We really lucked out getting her as she was the best tour guide up there. Really passionate and knowledgeable, it was a fantastic from start to finish. 11/10 experience, thank you for everything. Can't recommend this tour enough!!!
Very accommodating and friendly service. Perfect for our large student group. Kitchenettes convenient for student group dinners, and walking distance to a few beaches. There is also a great common area for group dinners, group meetings, and evening chill-time. We will be coming back!
Arnott’s is a sweet little getaway. Pleanty of tent camping, and some relaxing communal areas to meet other travelers. Doug, the owner, was extremely accommodating when our tent flooded at 9pm. If I ever come back to the big island, I’ll certainly stay here again.
I went camping with several friends and we loved it, the owner is very attentive and friendly.
The camping area has its own bathrooms, showers, playground, kitchen and washers and dryers.
It was a very comfortable camp with lots of amenities. We have a great time campaign
Perfect location near a calm beach park.|Everything is perfect… staff, owner, kitchen, games, free Wi-Fi, washing machine, restroom… very clean. They also offer us the coffee in the morning.😉|Nice tree with a lot of birds…|We have rent a site for or 21 feet’s Campervan just beside the kitchen and it is like we have a big outside house. I definitely recommend this place.
