I have had my Arlo 2 system for several years. I have never received any upgrades, until just recently. I received an update a couple weeks ago. No instructions or warnings at all. I installed the update and ever since my recordings over night have gone from 20 to 30 at least to none or 4 every night. I finally talked to support (another experience with an Indian who can't speak English) who informed me that the new update won't work unless you upgrade the software and he could do it for me for $200. When I went off, he offered to send a technician to fix the issues, at 10 at night. Right, I'm going to let a perfect stranger in at 10 at night! He accused me of ignoring all their upgrade messages which I never received! I'm DONE!!!!!!!
Addendum: It should be known that the only way you can reach Arlo customer service is thru the app! All the above happened because I Googled Arlo CS phone number and all those numbers are a scam. Arlo has fixed all my camera problems and I was treated wonderfully! Thank you Karen at Arlo Customer Service.
I am severely disappointed with Arlo support. I reached out and spent nearly two hours trying to work via chat with support agents. The first agent disconnected with me while I was performing the steps they had asked me to complete. Despite telling them that those steps could take up to 15 minutes, and having them acknowledge this and say they would wait, they disconnected after only 5 minutes. I then responded that my issue had not been resolved, and was connected to a different agent. This agent stated that they would read through the prior transcript, but then proceeded to ask me redundant questions that the other agent had asked, asked me for the same troubleshooting steps, and only read the previous transcript when I pointed this out. They then stated that they were going to “work with the support team” and asked me to stay connected. After more than 45 minutes with no response or update, I asked the agent if I was still being supported. I waited an additional 10 minutes with no response, and then was forced to disconnect. My issue was never resolved.
Stay away from Arlo if you actually value the security of your home. Spend your money elsewhere.
Not only can I not log in to my own cameras, there is no one to contact to tell. This is unfortunately the second time I have been gifted Arlo cameras otherwise I wouldn't be using them. The first time my 3 cameras just stopped working and wouldn't reconnect. When you try to look at video from the cameras, there is a huge play and pause button right in the middle of the screen which blocks everything you're trying to see. Arlo sucks real bad. DO NOT BUY ARLO
Horrible support. Will never buy another Arlo camera. All communication is done by chat, and they keep apologizing, but not resolving the problem. They sent links, which did NOT resolve the problem. Finally, they would NOT cancel the subscription, even though I no longer had the camera I had to call my credit card company from blocking them in the future. HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!!!
We had Arlo legacy first generation, it came with 7 day cloud storage. That's what we had signed up. Then we were forced to switch to a subscription plan. We don't want a subscription plan, I would rather get a refund of cameras.
+ 2. Customer service is impossible to reach. Way to rob people. This is how corporations make money now

My camera system is less than a year old and stopped working.
Apparently the "community" AKA Customers is their Support.

I lost access to my mobile app and tried to log back in. I have spent hours and I mean Hours trying to resolve this issue. I forgot the email and gave them everything else to include proof of purchase, pictures of the cameras and the serial numbers and they will not give me access to my account nor will they close my account. So I have to pay Arlo for serivce that I cant use and they wont do anything about it?! The person I was texting back and fourth bc if you cant access your account you CAN NOT speak on the phone with Arlo….the chat person said to cancel my account with my bank…what about all the money i spent on cameras?
This company is awful and if ANYONE is reading this Run away! There are much better cameras and serivce out there.

Do not buy their cameras. One update later my entire network covering 3 homes is down. I’m stressed and now part of my security is not reliable. Cameras are super buggy and terrible quality for recognition. Overall if you can, go with cctv install, you’ll spend more money but won’t have issues and have to upgrade every year or so.
