What a magical place. I recently attended a business retreat, and it was the perfect spot to plan for 2024. From the “made from scratch” meals, terrific and dedicated staff, cozy meeting spaces….it truly felt like home. Don’t miss the opportunity to spend some time in all of the beautiful surrounding nature to help you slow down a step. Cannot recommend Arc enough
Let me tell you, I HATE traveling or sleeping out of my home. But this retreat was something else, it was absolutely peaceful and beautiful. Everything and everyone there had hearts of gold. There is so much to explore in nature, a library, healing store, several rooms with their own sinks/vanity’s and private restrooms. Everything was made out of wood and Mother Nature. The cooks made the BEST meals that were so delicious and nutritious. Clean eating 🍽 absolutely amazing and I will be back.♥️♥️
ARC Retreat Center and its people are a hidden gem. From the moment we stepped onto the beautiful land, we were met with warmth and kindness. Our group rented the Lodge and the Cabin to lead a 4-day retreat and couldn't be more appreciative of the staff and the space. We knew we were in good hands from our first encounter with the generous spirit of Patricia, who greeted each of our retreat guests and showed them to their rooms in the lodge. Joyce's supportive and embracing energy helped initiate our nightly fire circles and was always available to share a smile and help us with little details to ensure the smooth flow of our retreat. Andrea, the kitchen manager, went above and beyond to accommodate the dietary requests of our group, creating a beautiful Ayurvedic menu for us. This menu was then prepared with such love and enthusiasm by Dana and Jennifer in the kitchen that we could taste the love in the food! Suzanne, the Executive Director, took time to share the history of the incredible facility and ensure that our group had all it needed. The land, the buildings, the food, the labyrinth, and the entirety of the staff at ARC created the perfect container for our group to have an amazing retreat experience. We left with full hearts, immense gratitude, and a scheduled date to return next year!
I joined the retreat that Lana had she's my yoga instructor whom now resides in Arizona. Lana had yoga and meditation while her husband did breathwork with us. I fell in love with this place immediately I arrived at 6 in the morning when Lana and Mark were walking up the path we had seen two deer just standing there. This place is magical with animals, nature, the food is pure and healthy made with love and the blessings said beautifully before we ate . You could really feel the love with the people who run the place and the volunteers. I have made a new soul family here my heart has been called and I volunteered for fall clean up. Just the most amazing minds and spiritual people. Very open and warm hearted
Felt very blessed, nourished, and supported by staff and volunteers. Especially attentive to dietary needs and providing vegan and vegetarian meals. Clean and comfortable. Nice rooms for retreat programs. Grounds are beautiful in a wooded setting right by a creek. Special touches like flower petals in the creek. There is a fire pit for bonfires. I enjoyed walking the labyrinth.
I had the opportunity to spend 2 nights at the ARC last week and I cannot say enough of how much I loved this place and how amazing my trip was. I live in the western suburbs of Chicago and was spending the week with my best friend in Minneapolis. My goal for the week was to reboot, detox and challenge myself and I was able to do all that and then some at the ARC. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt welcome and at ease. The staff was unbelievably welcoming. I was the ONLY guest there as I was there during the week plus I think they do a decent amount of group retreats but looking back, I'm kind of glad it worked out that way. The first floor consists of the office, a chapel, a lovely fireplace and a small gift shop as well as several guest rooms. The second floor where I choose to stay included more guest rooms, the kitchen and dining area, a communal area with huge bay windows, a few couches, rocking chairs and a fireplace with breathtaking views of the woods and the creek. The third floor was more of a loft area with a library, meditation room, yoga mats and art supplies and also where the staff sleeps when they are onsite. On my first day, I enjoyed lunch with their Housekeeper and Cook, Andrea. I had the pleasure of enjoying a few meals with Andrea and had some great conversations with her. After lunch, I decided to get bundled up and go for a hike among the 90-mile acres of land. They have snowshoes for guests. This was a new experience for me and I LOVED it. After I got back form my hike, I grabbed some of my things and literally sat on the couch in front of the fire for 6 hours and read, journaled, meditated and colored. It was so amazing. It was literally me, myself and I. As I said, I was fortunate to be the only guest there so I'm not sure how different your experience would be with a group but it was EVERYTHING I needed and then some. So much that one night was not enough so I decided to stay another. The staff was very accommodating and had no problem with me extending my stay. I literally just stumbled upon this hidden gem and cannot wait to go back. This place screams girls trip, couples retreat and so much more. I am truly grateful to Suzanne, Andrea, Gavin, all the other staff and of course to my girl Robin who works in the office who I hit it off with and have been in touch with since. All your meals are included and are vegetarian, as they encourage clean eating cuz well, you're there for a reason. They also have The Cottage which sleeps up to 6-8 with your own kitchen which I'd like to stay the next time I visit. They also have the Hermitage which is geared towards hermits who want total solitude which has electricity but no running water. The ARC (Action, Reflection and Celebration) allowed me to remember who I am and what I am capable of and for that I am truly grateful for who they are what they offer. I highly recommend the ARC to anyone looking to reboot, transform, get away from the chaos of life or anything else.
I volunteer and it's an amazing environment! Beautiful views and the warmest most welcoming people you could ask for. If you are looking to give some time to a worthy non profit, this is definitely one of them!!
I’m so lucky I found ARC when I needed it the most. I was there for 4 days and I already miss it! All the volunteers and the people I met there are very kind, calm and sweet. The whole experience was just soothing! The whole atmosphere is laid back and has a nice rhythm yet you can do variety of activities, everything is slow however compared to the life in a big city. I slowed down and found a relief. It's been over a week since I left and I am still feeling so much more peaceful. Some things I’ve leaned there will stay with me for a long time. I am so grateful for this wonderful getaway and such lovely people!
