Aqua View Motel - Motel in Panama City Beach - 4909 Hispaniola St, USA

We had to stay because our car broke down. Was worried when read reviews but I had nothing but a pleasant experience. Staff was wonderful rooms were clean and nice . Pool was excellent and the beach is a minute walk away. You are not in the crowded area so you can enjoy the beach. People expect a hotel that was built in the 50s and other part in 70s to be in top top shape and be like a five star well it's not but it makes up for it in so many other ways. This place was accommodating with whatever we needed they work hard and do the best they can. Would 100 percent stay here again was actually thinking about going again this weekend 😂

Location was great. Out the back door and half a block is the beach. Fantastic. Pictures online are a bit deceiving. The place is small, but in a nice, quaint way. The only aqua view is of the pool, which did not look bad. What did look bad was the visible gentleman goo on both beds and pillows in our room. Even in normal light, creepy cream was everywhere. Unfortunately, I just happened to have a flashlight with a blacklight function, and my curiosity killed a little bit of my soul that night. The horror! We carefully gathered our things and immediately left for a more sanitary stay elsewhere. Bonus points awarded to service thanks to the full refund we received without too much trouble.

It’s cheap motel with a pool and beach access right across the street, and it’s close to so much! We visited St. Andrew’s State Park. Listen, it’s a motel, you’re paying for a motel, so if you go in expecting something more, you need to look elsewhere. The rooms were clean (not like white glove clean, but again it’s a beach motel). We travel with Clorox wipes, our own pillows and blankets, ear plugs, and extra towels. We are often looking for a place just to rest our heads for a night while we are out adventuring. The rooms did the job. If you require total darkness in your room, you’ll need some forethought and preparation (Temu people!) or maybe just some ingenuity (think clothes pins and stuffing the blankets above the curtains and somehow pushing the curtains taunt at the bottom). We had a microwave and a mini fridge in our 2 double room. Without staying on the beach (and paying those water front prices), you really can’t beat the proximity to the beach access. We came just in the off season (Saturday, August 25th), schools and college are back in session and it wasn’t a holiday weekend, so the motel wasn’t overflowing and it was relatively quiet (there is road noise, but you’ll have that when you’re this close to the beach). The pool was refreshing and clean, we had it all to ourselves in the morning after the beach around 9:30am.

I use a booking website which gave me a room upgrade. It was a 1 bedroom with a kitchen. I was very pleased that it had been renovated since I went there a couple years ago. I was happy and comfortable. It's not a high-end motel, but it's upgraded, clean and the staff was very helpful. The beach is 1/2 block away - just a short walk.

Was a great stay. Place everything that we needed and anything we did need the folks that worked there made sure that we got it. They were very accommodating, even to the fact that me and my family Ralph for dinner and order that we were having delivered from Walmart came before we were done and not only did they put our items in our room, but they also put the cake that we ordered in the refrigerator. It was right across the street from the beach. Definitely recommend and will stay again!

Excellent service throughout the hotel, impeccable cleanliness as well as very well-maintained facilities, the location is perfect to come with friends or a family weekend. All the staff were very attentive, especially any in the office ,they were very kind and cared about me and my family at all times. The house keeping was very kind and understanding and knew how to answer all my concerns. I am very happy with my stay here . All the staff is super friendly and accommodating; they were always able to find us a chair at the pool. Pool service was great! Again, such a convenient location - so close to restaurants and bars, cafes, etc. The check-in process was very quick and efficient. Our room was ready upon arrival. The hotel was clean, quiet and safe. Cute little balcony and worth upgrading - the views and sunsets were amazing. 10/10 .

Hotel was clean, Location was ideal, Can't wait to go back and stay longer I've been to Panama City beach many times, but this was my first time staying at this property. It has now become my favorite hotel in this area. Outstanding service! Superb customer care. We felt pampered and made to feel like we were VIP. Every staff member treated us like royalty and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to make our stay the best possible. It’s ideally perfect, with great walking distance to the beach, restaurants and bars. Fantastic hotel for families  They do a wonderful job catering to families that just need basic amenities that ensure relaxation for parents and pool fun for the kids. This vacation  provided so many wonderful memories and experiences for me and my family

I would absolutely never recommend the Aqua View to anyone, and these past 5 star reviews in no way reflect our experience. As our 7 year old put it, “who would want to stay there?”||We called the hotel this morning to ask about early check in, and the woman told us that the owner had switched us to an upstairs room when we had purposely booked a downstairs room due to my 80 year old mother not being able to do more than a few stairs at a time (there’s no elevator). We told her that that wasn’t a possibility and why, and she said she’d call the owner and let us know if she was able to fix it. We felt that making a change like that warranted a phone call beforehand, but we didn’t receive one.||The woman was able to change it back, but when we pulled up, the hotel was NOT what the website represented it to be at all. We knew it was an older hotel and I feel like we had reasonable expectations based on that (clean and not a hazard). There were multiple people outside smoking, and cigarette butts everywhere. The pool did look okay, but it wasn’t as big as it seemed from the pictures. From the pictures on their website, we thought this was beach front, but it was not. I would guess it’s about a football field to the public beach entrance.||The floor in our room hadn’t been throughly swept (even a quick run with a Swiffer would‘ve been a huge improvement), there was a large amount of sand and dust anywhere that wasn’t a high traffic area, the security chain was missing on the door, the top of the coffee pot was broken off, the base of the toilet needed a good scrub, and there were smears on the wall. The biggest problem though was the floor boards were deeply cracked to the point that we just kept our shoes on because as soon as my mom took her shoes off, she had a massive splinter break off in her foot. The cracks were also full of sand… some sand is understandable, because we’re at the beach, but whoever cleaned the room didn’t even try to get the sand out of the cracks. ||We were in the room less than 30 minutes before we booked another hotel room and went to the office to check out. My husband asked the man behind the desk if we’d still be charged since we were checking out due to the room being unacceptable and the man laughed at him and sarcastically said “Of course!” My husband asked to get a receipt and while the man was printing it, I pointed out the splintering floorboards and how the room needed a deep cleaning badly, and the man said the rooms are cleaned daily. When my husband said they sure don’t appear that way, the man behind the counter said “Well, satisfaction is NOT guaranteed.” Our jaws dropped. My husband said he’d be calling his credit card company to dispute the charge, because of the safety issue with the floor and our 7 year old being with us, and the man said, “Maybe I’ll hold your deposit a few extra days then.” (They’re not good about communicating about the deposit either, because we didn’t realize we’d paid one until then.) About that time, he told us to get out of his office, and my husband smiled and very sweetly replied “As soon as I get my receipt, I’d be happy to get out of here!” ||I didn’t catch exactly what he said to my husband, but my husband’s response was “Wow, that’s a great way to run a business!” and the guy said “I’m not running a business!” as he shoved the receipt at my husband. My husband thanked him and told him to have a nice day.||I’m not sure how a hotel isn’t a business, but if the rooms don’t get some much needed work done on them and the people who work there don’t change how they interact with unhappy guests, I don’t see them having to worry about being a business long term. ||(I tried to post some of the pictures I took, but they’re not wanting to upload.
