Applewood RV Resort by Rjourney - RV park in Wheat Ridge - 11600 W 44th Ave, USA

It's been a very nice campground. There is no grass, however, only gravel. And, there are no bonfires permitted here. The campground is within city limits. There are also no amenities for children if that's of interest to you but, there are fabulous bike paths EVERYWHERE that lead to playgrounds - nature built and man-made. We will likely return if our daughter and granddaughter stay in the same area. THANK YOU APPLEWOOD!

Staff is friendly, clean campground, convenient to Denver and surrounding areas. Level sights, full hookups, picnic table. Nice park next door for walking pets, but my dog would just do business on the all gravel lot, too far to go to the tiny dog park area. Only complaint- it's pricey but most are in the area.

We are three days in to a month long stay, prepaid of course. We’ve had no power during the heat of the day with temps in the high 90’s-low 100’s. Had to take the dogs someplace else to cool off. Management said they can’t fix it. When we asked if we could get our money back they stated only if we leave today. So we would have to find a new place at 4:00 on a Friday. The location near parks and trails is the only saving grace for this park.

I have been living full-time in a travel trailer or fifth wheel since 2018. After hundreds of campgrounds and varying experiences, I can tell you that you will have one of the best campground managers you'll ever meet. Shawna holds the fort down and ensures you have anything you need. You're paying for the location and access to the city and the mountains with a quick hop onto I-70.

No rooms had motor home. Shawna the manager was great,very helpful and friendly. The other RV’ers were mainly long term. They were very friendly and even gave my wife a pretty glass vase. The other neighbor Drake gave us a couple dog balls. The only minor thing was the showers needed updating. Over all A+

Applewood was a blessing for us as it was available during a significant time of need. The size and location of this place was perfect for what we are accustomed to. Being close enough to needed services but far enough away from downtown Denver was priceless. The staff were friendly and helpful. The amenities were sufficient and the tenants were friendly. I would likely seek out other Rjourney locations in our travels based on our experience

I've just started my stay at Applewood RV Resort, and I'm already impressed! Shawna, who works here, has been absolutely wonderful. She's incredibly kind, attentive, and ensures everyone feels safe, welcomed, and taken care of. From handling inquiries to assisting with any concerns, Shawna goes above and beyond with a smile. Thanks to her dedication and hard work, I'm off to a great start here. Highly recommend Applewood RV Resort, especially with Shawna on board! (I will add photos shortly on a non rainy day :) and add to this after we have been here longer ! )

I cannot speak for anything other than their service which is down right HORRIBLE! I went by there earlier this afternoon around 4pm because they seem to have the only dump station anywhere. First off they advertise that it is $20 to use the dump station which ok whatever, seems a little excessively overpriced but cost and demand, blah blah blah. You get there and it is $20 “CASH ONLY”!!! Can you say “We’re not hiding $6k-$12k per month of profits from the IRS are we???” So you can’t use a credit or debit card, the only way you can pay is cash which is honestly a huge inconvenience especially if you are marketing that you have a dump station open to the public on your website but aren’t stating it’s “CASH ONLY”. Luckily I had cash on me but all I had was a $50 I keep as a backup in my wallet since I barely ever carry cash. So I walk up to the office door which says “OPEN” and the door is locked with a sign telling you to put your $20 in the mail slot. The blonde woman inside is sitting there so I knock on the window of the office door and she gives me a dirty look, great customer service all ready! I have to basically holler through the door to her that all I have is a $50. She shakes her head and starts rummaging through either a cash box or something and out from the mail slot come two fingers with a 20 and two 5’s which I take and hand the $50 which she snatches back into the mail slot which no verbal acknowledgment what so ever. Let’s be honest here, this place is not in a bad area of town first off and the park is pretty clean and orderly so it appears it has good people staying there with some expensive travel travelers. She acted as though we were in the crappiest hood in a hell hole part of town. Needless to say the customer service here on this occasion was HORRIBLE and the whole “CASH ONLY” thing is extremely inconvenient along with way over priced!! If you live in the area or a new to the area I would recommend looking into the City of Louisville, it may be a little bit of a drive maybe 20 minutes but you can get a pass from city hall for $35 for the “WHOLE YEAR” and use it as many times as you need. Sounds like a way better choice to me and you know where I’ll be going tomorrow.
