Applebee's Grill + Bar - Restaurant in Virginia Beach - 1426 Kempsville Rd, USA

Update: I decided to come back and try the dollaritas which was amazing!! This time I shared the sampler, had some pretzels, and the brownie bite for dessert. I had the absolute BEST waiter ever and his name was Curtis! He was truly amazing and made this experience much more enjoyable! He has such an amazing personality and provided such a great dining experience for me and my entire party! It's been so long since I've been to an Applebee's but I decided to try it tonight. I was very impressed with the food and service here. The young lady who served us was extremely polite, helpful with providing information for menu items that I requested, and was very quick. She constantly checked up on us to make sure we were good and I appreciated it! I had the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes, and garlic greens. The food was very flavorful and I loved it! Great positions l portion sizes for a reasonable price! I was too full for dessert. Overall, I had a great experience!

This was not a good experience. The food was terrible!!! The place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months, maybe years. I am so upset that I wasted my money here. Please don't make the same mistake we did, go to Wendy's or even Taco Bell instead. Our server did a fine job, no complaints with him.

The food was okay, I ordered a burger and fries. My fries were cold and the burger was okay, it could use some seasoning. My man and my aunt ordered the ribs and said the ribs were dry but the bbq sauce was good! My man also ordered a side of coleslaw and said it was not good at all. Also, the waiter was okay.

We go to Applebee's frequently with my wife, grandchildren, and friends. Food is good and even with a full restaurant brought out quickly. Waiters are very proficient, friendly, and helpful as well as cheerful. We recommend this establishment highly.

Wish we hadn't chosen the Kempsville location!!! Our party of 5 mainly ordered the $14.99 AYCE special. 3 started their AYCE with Boneless wings, they were hard as BRICKS AND COLD!! Sent the wings back, it took an hour and a half for food to come back!! 2 drinks had black and white debris in the bottom of the cups. 1 person ordered Salmon, which could not have been 6oz.. General Manager was VERY, VERY RUDE! What kind of General Manager comes to a table, with a sour puss face, does not introduce themselves, and just says, "What's your problem?", with attitude! After meeting the GM, we decided not to eat anything else and left hungry. Didn't feel like the "Friendly Neighborhood Applebee's" to me. The only good things were the Cupid cocktails, fried shrimp and our waiter Hunter. Do not waste your time and hunger at this location.

The food was horrible, ordered two bourbon street steaks that were bland, the draft beer was flat, the wine selection was minimal! The waiter was the only positive experience about the place! It needs a deep cleaning and a lot of training regarding the cooks!!! It’s a 1 and done!!!

The waiter was very nice. There were only a few ppl in there, so we were able to get our food fast. I always get the same thing when I go here. The chicken and shrimp with mash potatoes. It's always good.

This Applebee's is consistently a solid choice for a reasonably priced dinner. We typically get one of the 2 for $35 options. The staff is friendly & attentive & the food is always as expected.
