Only was able to see approximately half the exhibits with the time I gave myself. Will go back to finish and update review after. What I saw was educational. The museum is not only about the appaloosa horse. It is also about the Nez Perce. It ties the life of two very closely.
Pleasant stop and I appreciated all the heritage behind this pony... August 10th 2019 they are having a shindig i would hope they see a lot of folks go through their doors. Beautifully set in a quaint setting with information from long ago. Worth the stop. Raffleing a beautiful 2 year old Appaloosa enter to win...
The Appaloosa, identified by its colorful spotted coat, is a horse breed synonymous with the Palouse region, so it’s fitting that there should be a museum for it, right on the Idaho-Washington state line. The museum shines a light on a variety of topics, like the history of spotted horses in art and literature, Appaloosas’ various coat patterns, and the importance of Appaloosas to the native Nez Perce people. Display cases are loaded with interesting objects, from saddles to black and white photography and Native American artifacts. There’s also a hands-on area to keep children engaged, as well as a theater and an extensive library.
The info about the horses is amazing just the native American goods some are not well marked and misleading there are some cultural errors with how they describe the Nez Perce people and there way of life it's unfortunate that they don't work closely with the tribe but I can kinda see why the women I spoke to was brash and almost seemed offended that I asked about the goods and there validity.
The Appaloosa Museum was so kind to host a tour for our homeschool group today. We had a wonderful time seeing the artifacts and learning about horses! The tour was very interesting for the children and kept right on their level. There was even a play area to enjoy afterwards! We had a great time and appreciate the wonderful care we received!
This is a very informative place to spend a few hours at least, you could spend longer if you wanted to read every display thoroughly. They have wonderful displays. A place for kids to interact and play. Lots of historical info, too!
Every time we've gone, they've been closed, even though Google and the hours on the door say they should have been.
A great place to learn some local history. Staff was really friendly and knowledgable. I wpuld definately suggest it!

Best coffee hut in town! So grateful for all their sugar free options. Their baristas Gretchen and Cass are literally the sweetest girls youâll ever meet. They are fantastic with suggestions for drinks and always taste fabulous!!!

When we planned our trip to the USA months ago and it was clear that we would visit Moscow, ID, all we needed was the best restaurant in town. The winner was the Lodgepole. And: We were not disappointed. Good food off a pleasing small menu, a bit off

One of my favorite Moscow gems! I brought my friend who lives out of town and she was in love! Sheâs GF, and she loved the selections on the menu. The market side salad was her favorite (wish they fried their fries in a separate fryer for GF option
