Simple and easy accommodation. Host is super friendly and goes out of his way to help. Especially in Tahoe where it's not easy to find value for money and good service in the same spot Apex is a great option.

Do not come here if you have a service animal, therapy animal or an ESA! Rented 2 rooms, paid $395 per room plus $150 deposit per room. First you can't even check in at the Apex inn at all. After reading the seven signs on the door we found out that we had to travel to go get our keys from a whole another location. When asked if I had a pet I said we have a dog which is my sisters ESA and he also is training as a service animal to detect my nephews blood sugar levels she just looked at me and said, "if we find a pet in your room we'll keep your $300". Well, you can't keep $300 when the deposit is $150 per room but we'll deal with that when it happens and I never said I had a pet, I have a dog which is my ESA for my sister...... She then tells me to sign the screen as it's going to ask questions. I started signing and got to a part that said, "no animals that are not ADA compliant" I asked what type of document would I need to produce? She LAUGHED AT ME. Literally laughed and said, "if you knew what the difference was then you know". I asked her again, "what documents do I need"? She again laughed and said, "oh we just know". I explained that I ran an organization that trained service animals for veterans so that I am very clearly aware of what documents I would have to supply not only in California but also in Louisiana however she still continued to tell me how people just make that statement so they don't have to pay a deposit and to have their pet with them. I explained that I not only trained animals but I run apartment communities and have for almost 25 years. I have to know and understand the laws when it comes to Fair Housing and service and emotional support animals. All she would say is, "you can just tell. Emotional support animals MUST stay with you at ALL times and if we see you without the animal then we'll charge you and we'll know you're lying". So basically you're saying I have to keep my animal with me or on a leash at all times, that I cannot step outside the room without my animal? I'm sorry but that's not how that law works. You can in fact step away from your ESA and I don't think I understand the amount of control you think you have over people. You want me to sign something you can't give me an answer to. Talk about pushing ADA policies but not knowing them, understanding and explaining your policies.... I will not be recommending or staying here again. You don't understand your own policies which means you don't understand the California laws. I fault no one for not knowing how to treat people with service animals, or emotional support animals. I do however feel that you should know something about what you can and cannot tell people when it comes to service and emotional support animals if you are running a business. You also have no ability to use the trash bin on site because they keep it locked with a padlock and there is no one on site to help you with anything. The girl cleaning the rooms looks like she's been up for a couple days and the boyfriend decided to come hang out with her the last 30 minutes and wait around. I have never been this disappointed in a hotel, motel or inn that I've stayed in my entire life and we literally just got here. We haven't even stayed the night yet, this just happened to be the experience I had checking in. Update after staying the night. 5 adults opinions.... Horrible nights sleep. The beds are like sleeping on the floor. Rock hard mattress. Ugh. This place is not at all what any of us expected

My daughter and I took advantage of spring break to visit Lake Tahoe. We lived in a house over here, Because it offered two beds, Therefore, it is quite convenient for a father and his daughter to stay. The most important is that their fees are quite low; I thought it was a very economical accommodation option when visiting Lake Tahoe!

If I could give zero stars I would. For a hotel the rooms are so tiny and stuffy and it's really annoying to have to read a bunch of signs to get through to any form of management. Would not recommend staying here at all

Hey, for a refurbished 60's motel, the owners did a pretty nice update. Very reasonable price for Tahoe, located on hwy 50 next to a great restaurant called Ernie's. The motel owner was super friendly and very accommodating. I plan to stay here during ski season too.

We just stayed here last night. The location is wonderful and the rooms seem to have been updated recently. The cleaning crew did not wipe down the nightstand or other surfaces before we came. There was some sticky stuff on top (probably coffee spills?). In addition, the the windows/blanket covers are super dusty. I accidentally moved them and triggered a lot of dust--and I suffered from an asthma attack. I know this is a budget hotel, but I wish the owner and housekeeper will do a more thorough job cleaning the units, rather than just make them look nice. Again, you get what you pay for.

The room was perfect for my partner and I during our vacation! Perfect size for just us two. The room did get toasty off and on, but there was an AC to cool down. The room was clean (the shower could’ve been a bit cleaner since we did see hair that wasn’t ours in there). It also had a flatscreen tv with cable, coffee maker, fridge, etc.

A good value for the price. The room was renovated and clean. IMPORTANT TIP: Turn the thermostat down before you go to sleep or you will get to hear what sounds like a goblin inside the radiator going absolutely bananas with a metal pipe all night long. After we turned the heat way down it stopped and we finally got some sleep. Otherwise a great cost-effective option for the traveller on a budget.

The place is really nice, the water is crystal clear but very cold. It's worth it to pay the $5.00 fee to see this beautiful place. In the middle of it there's an old house, scary but beautiful.

Beautiful hike to Eagle Lake that took about 30 min after the bridge. This time of year there was snow and ice on the trail that made it slippery but was worth the quick trip up and back.

Took this trail to go to Cascade Falls. It's flat for the first 5 mins or so and then becomes rocky and risky at the corners. There is some construction work going on in the area so they have put up temporary boards marking the trail. Good job! It
