So glad we found this 'hidden' gem! We were visiting Carrabelle and one of the store owners in town told us about this place. We decided to take the kids for a visit. So much to look at and the kids loved seeing the different tanks with fish, turtles, etc. We will definitely do the nature walks when we come back in warmer weather. Very informative and all the fossils and shells were really cool to look at. Best part, it is free!! They could charge a few bucks and i would still visit again.

Fun place to go. Good to do on a rainy day it's all indoors. Lots of things to look at in here can easily take up 1-2 hours of time. There is a small gift shop area by the front desk with shirts/plush animals/books/and other small misc items. The staff are nice and the inside is very clean. Clean bathrooms. Everywhere here is wheelchair accessible, Theres an elevator up the platform to the main building, bathrooms are decently sized and there is a big stall with a sink as well, and inside of the building there is lots of floor space.

Excellent and informative walk through some natural Florida coastal wetlands followed by aquarium exhibits and historical information about the area. The overarching theme of the importance of the Apalachicola estuary and its fragility serve an amazing experience.

Another hidden gem along the forgotten coast. The center's exhibits and trails are free to visit and there is a ton to learning to be had here. An older Floridian stopped us at the end of the boardwalk, where the river meets the sea, to tell us that this is real Florida- no high-rises, just natural beauty along the coastline. Spotted some eagles and turtles. Bathrooms and gift shop on site. Free parking too.

This was such a neat excursion for our family today. The exhibits were very informative but with lots of colors for the kids. Our favorite part was the center room that had fossils, bones, 100s of shells, etc. All labeled and available to touch and explore! It was so neat! It is free. The nature trail walk was nice...hot but nice..And we loved the laminated trail guides about the trees with guides labeled along the trail! We highly recommend it!

Small center packed with information and a few aquariums, all of the aquariums are very low so kids can easily see. This is definitely a shorter excursion than most, but it is definitely worth it. The best part is that it is free. Don't forget to support the center if possible, I would recommend donating before you leave.

When I visited this place the aquarium tanks were out of service due to a hurricane, but it was still a good visit. There are a lot of interesting things to look at. There is some very neat taxidermy. I’m sure it would be even better if I got to see the aquatic life.

We were looking for something to do other than the beach and our entire family loved this place. The kids really enjoyed seeing everything and learning about the different plants on the walk. Do the entire walk, it’s not long and the gift shop had a some cute little stuff for the kids.
