Anthony's Townhouse - Guest house in Brookline - 1085 Beacon St, USA

We came to Boston in a hurry because of a family medical emergency. We couldn't find a hotel and with the assistance of the manager at the Hamilton we found this home from home, run by the wonderful Albert and Barbara. For the next three days they were kindness itself to us, waiting up for us, checking that we had what we needed. Despite our situation we found this beautifully restored house stylish, tasteful and affordable. Close to the tram in Brookline, which is a wonderful neighborhood. We couldn't say enough good things about the owners, their compassion outweighed the need to run a business. Ww have found our go to place and have recommended it to everyone we have talked to. Look forward to the opportunity to stay in this warm home again, hopefully soon

Beautiful home. Meticulously cared for. Decor is in excellent condition. The room has a window air-conditioner when needed or outside air. Fire escape access. Bed a little hard for our preference, but slept great! Shared bathroom is in wonderful condition. Newer sink, tub, toilet. Electrical upgrades have been done. Sprinkler system in place. Owners very nice. We would like to stay here again next time we plan to be in Boston. The T, Green Line, is available in the middle between the streets. Easy walking distance to Fenway Park. Nice restaurant nearby, the Busy Bee. We had a nice breakfast & the staff were very attentive. Summary: we enjoyed our stay.

NEED A PLACE TO STAY IN BOSTON ? GREAT VALUE - CLOSE TO EVERYTHING * * * * * Ideally close to shops, great restaurants , hospitals, theatres ,and bars . Minutes' walk to your favorite sites. Location, Location, Location The wonderful ANTHONY'S TOWN HOUSE , 1085 BEACON ST, BROOKLINE, MASSACHUSETTS is at the top of my list of places to stay in the world. If you want a real taste of the old Boston this unique historic Brownstone built in 1890 is at a location that does not get any better. At reasonable prices this beautiful hidden gem is the place to stay. The people there are so nice and helpful. Needless to say I have highly recommended this lovely town house to my friends and relatives. If you know your going to have a late night at the theatre or an event in Boston, this is a great place to stay. I hope to go back soon. Carl Bertolino Melbourne Florida

Beautiful brownstone on the red line in Brookline! Walking distance to Fenway and 10 minutes to downtown. Great diner across the street and a Whole Foods. A fantastic French bakery and Thai restaurant down the block. We recently had our second visit to Anthony's. Barbara and Arthur are great hosts. The rooms are large and impeccably decorated. Amazingly clean. It has shared bathrooms per floor but wasn't a problem. There was also access to a refrigerator. Love this place and will stay here again and again and again!

I stayed at Anthony's Townhouse for more than 2 months. I really loved the owners' of the place before the place itself. The room is very spacious and the decorate is so unique and different from any placed I stayed in the US. Also, the location is right next to the train station. I really loved the design and decorate of the room. Barbra and Arthur, I cannot thank you enough and I wish you all the best.

Stayed here in October with two friends (3 of us in very spacious Room 2 downstairs). As someone who went to school & lived in Boston and now a frequent return visitor to the city, I was ecstatic to discover there was such a clean, well-managed, convenient, safe and quiet room for this price to be had in Boston (a wonderful city that has become almost unaffordable for the casual traveler the last few years). Yes, the decor is dated/kinda kitsch-y, but "who cares" for the price/convenience/safety?? We had access to two sinks, two toilets, and one large walk-in shower (bathrooms are updated), a small fridge & microwave and a safe, quiet, grassy outdoor patio - all of which are scrupulously well-kept. Literally, cross the street from the front door, and you are on the Green Line trolley which will you take all the way to downtown Boston at which point you can cross to all other lines you might need during your travels. We spent four lovely days/nights touring old and new favorites without any cares/problems with our accommodations. Can't recommend highly enough especially for those on a budget.

This was a terrific find in Boston, where reasonably priced acccomodation is hard to come by. It is located on a convenient transit line, close to restaurants and a food market. Our room was spacious, the common areas were clean and having access to a fridge and microwave was convenient. The shared bathroom was better than I had expected and as there were two bathroom on our floor getting access was never an issue. If I had one recommendation it would be to supply more coffee cups in the dish area. ||Arthur was always available to help with recommendations and transit advice. He went out of his way to help us print out our boarding passes. I would stay here again and will be recommending this to all friends going to Boston.

We stayed four nights. I'm not one to book rooms with a share bath, but our garden floor had one full and one 1/2 bathroom. Also a door to the small patio area. Outside our room was a refrigerator, microwave, and teapot. Arthur and Barbara were very accommodating to our late arrival. I love the historical pieces of furniture, all very well maintained and put to use, not just for show. The green line was right out the door. Nice cafes and restaurants down the street. well maintained area. You couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you Barbara and Arthur.
