Angler's Inn - Hotel in Matlacha - 11282 Matlacha Ave, USA

We had a wonderful family vacation at Angler’s Inn! I absolutely loved how each room had its own screened in lanai overlooking the serene dock and waterway, with lush palms creating privacy between each patio. We spent every night enjoying happy hour outside as a family, while my daughter did arts & crafts and we all admired the wildlife. We even kayaked and dropped in a fishing line right off our dock, which made relaxing adventures as a family so accessible! Beyond the Inn, we enjoyed daily walks into downtown Matlacha, which was only a 5 min stroll from home base! There was a great family friendly diner for breakfast, waterfront dining options for lunch & dinner, an amazing pirate ship playground, and plenty of cute shops to stroll during our stay. The host, Janette, shared a wealth of information on the area ahead of our trip and was so warm and welcoming when we arrived, which was the icing on the cake for pulling off the perfect family getaway. I highly recommend Angler’s Inn for exploring the beauty of the gulf coast.

This is a great little hideaway gem! My wife and I come here to escape the city and just slow down. It is very convenient that we can keep the boat right behind the room so we can get up, enjoy coffee on the dock, and take the boat out to Sanibel or just put it around the area.

I live in the area and when I have visitors Anglers Inn is where they love to stay! My mom stayed for 3 nights and loved her room and view! The room is like a studio apartment with everything you need to enjoy your stay! We loved to sit outside on the water and watch the pelicans in the trees, and fish swimming by! The room was clean and very comfortable! And hospitality is of Southern Charm! 🏝️ 💜

Unfortunately, the motel didn't meet our expectations. The area didn't feel safe with many surrounding buildings looking abandoned and in disrepair, so we decided not to spend the night there and found another nearby hotel. When the owner was contacted she was very rude and refused to listen to our feedback.

As nice and enjoyable as a small (4 room) hotel can possibly be. Rooms are "efficiencies". (No stove but every other amenity of an efficiency. Plus an outdoor grill, so who needs a stove? Besides, who wants to cook on vacay? ;) Comfortable bed. Clean and freshly painted. Good A/C. It has a dock / seating area that sits alongside on one of Matlacha's mangrove lined canals. The mangrove and trees are home to pelicans and other wildlife. There's an Osprey family that lives on a pole-top nesting area that is plainly visible from the dock. The Osprey's activities are attention grabbing. Did I mention that each unit comes with kayaks for the guests to use on the adjoining canal. There's also a walk-in/out screen-house attached to each room, so there's no "mosquito problem" when sitting outside at night, star gazing. The motel sits about 200 feet from Matlacha's main strip, so it's an easy and safe walk to the restaurants and stores. It's also a very short ride to Pine Island for sunset watching. All that and the price is right. Last, but not least, the inn's owner-hostess, Janette, is as welcoming and helpful as an innkeeper can be. I'll be a return visitor in future snowbird seasons.

Entre hôtel et motel. ||C’est tout équipé oui, la chambre était extrêmement humide. La couverture sur le lit avait cette de Santino d’être mouillé, le plafond avait beaucoup de moisissures. ||La wifi ne fonctionnait pas sauf si l’on va dehors devant la porte.||Salle bain rudimentaire, tout petit bac de douche, sa fuit de partout.||Dans notre chambre vers la cuisine il y avait beaucoup de genre de fourmis qui longer le mur et qui passait derrière la cuisine bref pas dingue.||La literie était pas bonne du tout. Le matelas était catastrophique. Trop mou et moelleux pas bon pour le dos donc. Heureusement nous y sommes restés qu’un nuit.||Pour une escale et pour y rester une nuit si vous êtes pas trop pointilleux ok, sinon n’allez pas la.

Amazing place, it rained all day while we were there but we didn't mind at all. Check-in was super simple and the room was so beautifully modern and clean (you could tell it was recently renovated, with a lot of modern amenities) -- and you had a beautiful view to the canal (with free kayak and bike rentals included). Definitely recommend!
