This family run hole in the wall had some wonderful margaritas, cold beer, but most importantly great tasting home made food. I can highly recommend this location. Come early as the place fills up quickly after 1800. As per usual, I did not take pictures of the food until after I already polished off half of it. Tasted great. First time I had a Chef’s burrito with all the meats cut up and mixed in one burrito. Beef, Chicken, Pork, and Shrimp. I enjoyed it!!
This place is small and fills quickly. We went in at about 530 on a Saturday and waited for a table for four for only about 20 minutes. Our waitress was quick, kind and had a great memory. She was getting all the tables orders without writing anything down and not missing a beat. The food and margaritas were delicious. My husband said he would drive an extra 60 miles just to have the beef burrito.
Seriously, one of the best margaritas I've had in a long time. The chips and salsa are good and the queso was really excellent. Each of the three of us enjoyed what we ordered (chicken burrito, chicken, chimichanga, and a combo plate). If you're into mole, their sauce is particularly sweet so order at your own risk! I liked it more than my wife did, but I recommend seeing if you can taste it before ordering a dish with it. Otherwise, everything was just really good Mexican food!
Really good food here with great service. I had bean enchiladas with chili verde and carnitas, it was excellent. I tasted the cheese enchiladas with the red sauce and it was excellent too. I tasted the tamale and it was really good. I did not try the quesadilla but my kid enjoyed it. This is a must go to place in Gunnison.
Great food, bad waitress! Our friends took us there and told us it had great food, and they didn’t lie. Their salsa was on point and the food was really good. The only problem was the waitress, she was rude, acted like she was in a rush, and is understandable but a least she could have tried to take our kids drink orders. I Ask questions about what she recommended and her answer was ignorant and not helpful at all.
First and only time through Gunnison, stopped for an early dinner. Chips were fresh and crunchy, and salsa had a good kick to it! Tamale was flavorful. Black refried beans were good and rice was OK (a little plain tasting, but that's what makes it good to mix with beans and salsa). Seating is somewhat limited, but nice little spot. Would stop in again if ever in the area.
The beef guisado was yummy. The salsa was a little spicy and excellent flavor. I rarely find spicy salsa at restaurants. The rice was one of the best I’ve had. I typically don’t enjoy Mexican rice. The margarita was potent and very flavorful. Glad we stopped on our way through Colorado.
Our 2nd time getting food from there. We took a drive from Grand Junction to Gunnison for New Years Eve day. A gorgeous balmy winter day. It was also our 12th wedding anniversary. Their food is worth the 2.25 hour drive. Texted my order in the morni
Great place to visit and learn about the pioneer life. We brought 65 scouts out west and this was one of the stops. More than enough to keep them engaged. Well worth the stop if you are driving nearby.
We took our young children and had a great time. The staff was so nice and helpful. The pool is heated, great place for little and big kids. The gymnastics gym is open play and the basketball court. They have family changing rooms too!
Nice big RV spots that have a good amount of space between them. Easy access to the reservoir. There is some highway noise if you're close to the road, but the spots farther away are quiet. There is no shade so I would recommend a plug-in spot for RV
We loved our stay at Rodeway Inn!! We extended our planned length of stay and ended up spending 4 nights at the Inn. The beds were extremely comfortable as was the room itself. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the rate was excellent. W
Make a reservation!!! This place is ahhhmazing! A must try in the area. You can always get there early or even just go out to the river front bar area for awesome views, live music, drinks, and a small menu. Garlic Mike was grillin some oysters when
Our room was clean and very comfortable. The bed was perfect, there was little to no external noise, and we loved the location. The front desk (man and two women) were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was pretty good, except for the eggs,
Great gluten-free selection! They have soft breads, pita, pizza crust, cakes, cookies, and chips; all gluten-free. Their other products are well stock as well.
