This is a little gem tucked away in the middle of nowhere. I love a good Mom & Pop coffee shop and this one is fabulous. The coffee is great, the muffins are killer, (pictured are blueberry & choc chip) and the food is amazing. If I lived here I would for sure be a regular. And they wrote a special message for my birthday on my cup!😊
First time visitor. Expected decent lunch food and good coffee. Had the roast beef pepper jack sandwich and Red Eye coffee. Both the food and drink were absolutely phenomenal. Couldn’t believe it. Will be stopping back by every time I’m in Independence.
Such a cute little coffee/sandwich/gift shop! Traveling through the town and so glad we stopped. They serve breakfast all day but we were there at lunch time so ordered a grilled cheese panini. It came with chips and a drink for $8.95. Great value and delicious! Gift shop was fun to go through and all the staff was friendly and efficient.
My friends and I drove down from Kansas City to run the Winter Rock race at Elm City Lake. We got done at 1:45. Ane Mae's closed at 2. I called and asked if we could order over the phone and we would drive as fast as we could to get there before they closed. We got there at 1:59 and our order was ready! Their coffee and muffins tasted even more delicious after a cold, difficult run. Their customer service is amazing!
Fantastic little sandwich shop in Independence KS. The grilled cheese panini was delish, service was top notch. Small gift shops in same building add a nice ambiance.
Had the hot turkey and bacon which was awesome. Macaroni salad tasted great. Service was fast considering there was a major event. Wife had the hot ham and cheese sandwich which she enjoyed. Absolutely and awesome first impression. Recommend eating here.
Made a pit stop on here on my road trip. Had one of their breakfast sandwiches and a smoothie. Both were great. Cozy and clean small business right at one of the main intersections of this patriotic little town. Not necessarily the kind of small town friendly I am used to back home but friendly enough. Looking forward to my next visit.

Parked here but hiked west-east based on some recommendations. Probably would go E-W next time as miles 1-9ish are tougher in my opinion. Nice parking lot. Great trail with excellent blazing. You won't get off trail.
We had a lovely visit to the homestead museum. We always enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie. To see the homesite in person was awesome. If youâre a fan, check it out.
Have taken my grandchildren here once a week all summer for 10 years. Fair price snacks are affordable entry price very reasonable. Keep it clean. So blessed to have this in our area.

Ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Cooked just right and ample portions. Seasoned perfectly. Mindy is a great waitress and remembers what you like.
Went in on a Saturday and food came out steaming. Which is always a good sign for a restaurant. They were busy as usual on a weekend, and the service was great! Served everybody like we were important.
