My family and I stayed at the Anchor Pointe Inn a few days in early May, 2024. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the establishment and with the friendliness/attentiveness of the staff. The room was very affordable, especially compared to what we might have paid if we had stayed at another establishment-- which allowed us more budget to spend on doing other things in the surrounding area, like going on a whale watching cruise, dining out at the historic Chowder Barge, or visiting the nearby aquarium. The surrounding area of Long Beach is not idyllic, as it seems to be in a very industrial area of town-- but Anchor Pointe Inn was a hidden gem in this area, and centrally located so that you are a short drive from anywhere in the area you would wish to go. The couple managing the inn were courteous, friendly but not at all intrusive. They accommodated us with extra towels, a fold-out bed for our kids to sleep on, and we were relieved to discover that there was a laundry room on site. Parking was a little cramped, but off the main street-- locked up and secure at night. Despite being in the middle of the downtown area, we had quiet night's sleep. No issues with noisy neighbors at all. My son and I enjoyed a nice game of chess in the lobby, where coffee, water and a cool community sitting area was available for everyone for reading or games (the board games were provided). Despite the fact that we are a large family, with toddlers, we never felt a burden or inconvenience, as we have been made to feel at other locally owned and operated establishments we've stayed at in the past. Needless to say, if we ever require a room in the Long Beach area in the future, we will certainly make inquiries with the Anchor Pointe Inn first. I would highly recommend this quaint and pleasant establishment to anyone who is looking for a clean, friendly stay at a convenient location for a very reasonable price.
Rooms were nice, bed comfortable, and spacious, I got the private bathroom option, so that wasn't a problem. The couple running were really nice and offered coffee every morning. There are reserved parking spaces, but only 3 were reserved, and the rest of the lot was free but was on a first come, first serve basis. They open the lot at 7am and close at 930pm. I would come through again but the neighborhood is sketchy.
The lady owner greeted me by opening the front door for me. They are very accommodating people. The hotel is in a good area, I felt safe, and I met some folks who were also about to sail out on the carnival Firenze too. The TV has a supple amount of channels to watch. There is a cartoon channel for the kids is great. I never liked California but this place is alright ya
Beware of this place!!! I booked a 1 night stay and paid extra to get a bigger room for me and my kids and was greeted with the smallest room. Not the double room I ordered. The floor had a greasy film to it, so it was slippery and dirty. The building had a funky smell to it, and the area was very sketchy with homeless camps nearby. After these issues, I did not feel safe for me or my kids and requested to cancel, but they refused to cancel my stay and charge me full price. Please avoid this place at all cost!!! Not worth the hassle.
The owners are great. If you're a budget traveler just looking for a place to sleep that's clean and friendly, this is your place. The bathrooms look to be newly remodeled. Not in the best part of town... but that could be said for most of the LA area.
The hotel gets 5/5. It is a quaint, charming little place. It was very clean and the furniture was decent quality. The innkeepers are quiet and very polite. Their hospitality is commendable. The price of the rooms is hard to beat for the area and quality. Do be aware however that the location isn't the best; there's not too much to do on foot. This place would be best suited for someone with a car or who will be taking taxis to other places such as Long Beach, San Pedro, Los Angeles, etc.
My wife and I have stayed here several times and highly recommend this location. We prefer quiet and family-oriented. This small family operated hotel is that.
This hotel is so awesome. Run by a sweet husband and wife from India and the rooms are so clean and have all the things you want - fridge, bathtubs, TV’s with all the channels. Great parking on the street or their lot and again, the couple who run the place are so kind. 12 out of 10 stars!!
Highly recommend.. Excellent cappuccino. Also, they have a wide variety of other coffees. Very comfortable seats and nice interior to sit and meet with friends. Very friendly staff who is happy to explain the wide variety of coffees and other beverag
There is this amazing worker here. Vanessa is her name. She is beyond amazing. She has helped myself and my children many times. My little ones played there making slime to events in their gym. Always a great welcoming crew.
Tend to go early mornings, my daughter enjoys the newly built playground, she to play around with out a worry also my dog is able to run freely with out people being around. (I got a rottweiler)
I went here to get some tea, and I honestly thought I wasn't going to get much when I was at the store looking through their menu. For god's sake they put chocolate under green tea and a green tea blend under oolong. Not to say much of their menu are
