Anchor Bay Inn and Suites - Motel in Sandusky - 4401 Venice Rd, USA

I stayed there on a Monday and Tuesday in August 2024. It is an older property that has been recently updated. The king size bed was nice, and the sofa was to short to lay on. It claims to be pet friendly. However when I verified it was I discovered that there was a $100 pet fee! Non refundable. The room cost 129 a night, plus $100 pet fee plus tax cam to $414.83 I would have cancelled the room but it appears my rooms were non cancellable. I could have had a free breakfast and no pet fee closer to Cedar pointe for considerably less. Definitely not worth $207.42 a night! Also they have a nice k-cup machine, but no K-cups! It should be listed on the site that a $100 pet fee applies!

I mistakenly reserved a single king room but needed a double. They graciously and quickly accommodated us without issue! The updated sailing theme rooms are very nice. The location is perfectly centrally located and a short drive to Cedar Point and Port Clinton and a quick drive to catch the ferry over to Kelley’s Island and Put In Bay. Overall, our 3 day weekend was great and we were able to t fry I a lot in a short time especially due to the proximity of Anchor Bay Inn. I would definitely recommend them and I would stay again but I would rent the 3 bedroom house next time. Check em out!

Anchor Bay was great. The room was very clean and included a kitchen. We stayed in the double queen suite. And it easily fit my family of four. It had a high top table with chairs for eating space and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. The only negative I can think of was closet and dresser space. I would rate the motel as a overall 4.5.

What a wonderful little place. Too bad we were only there for one night. So clean and fresh inside. Delightfully decorated and very nice amenities. THE SOFTEST BED and PILLOWS we have ever slept on! Felt like being on a cloud! Could've slept 12 hours, but had to check out. Met our long-time friends at Tofts for ice cream down the street. Will be back for sure.

The room was nice & clean. Bed was comfortable. Towels were clean & there were plenty. It's a cute setup with a little kitchenette & separate living & sleeping area. However, the AC is in the main area so it was warm/stuffy in the bedroom. They had a small fan in the bedroom but it didn't help much. Luckily, I always travel with a fan. There are no end tables in the bedroom. We moved the one from the living area to accommodate a CPAP. It's a no frills place to stay. I would stay again but not for $200/night. It's pricey for what & where it is

The room looked EXACTLY like the pictures-it was clean, very simple furnishings, which we prefer due to the problem in Ohio cities with bed bugs/our last experience in Sandusky (there were NONE here, we check EVERYTHING as my husband is allergic to their bites - we stayed 3 nights without issue). The bed was extremely comfortable, pillows were soft and amazing, fridge was cold, microwave, Keurig and TV all worked (and all were new). The only thing which wasn't an issue for us but might be for some really tall or non athletic people (and I'm not sure if this is every room or just room 10) is the shower head was at 5' height so both my husband and I had to crouch down to wash our hair. It was quiet here although the AC unit is loud ( we got used to that quickly though like white noise) and I'm not sure how someone said it was scary at night, it looked like your normal residential area with a lot of cute houses and was not scary at all. We will absolutely return here when we return to go to cedar point again (15 minutes away from the park).

The room was very clean and quiet. It was also very spacious and comfy. We also appreciate the free upgrade! Any questions that we had answered promptly via email and text.

We loved our stay here. Close to cedar point and sandusky. I love that they revived an old motel and made it a nice place to stay, we always prefer to stay at places like this over a bigger hotel. The prices were fair and the bed was super comfy! We will definitely stay here again when we're back in town!
