It's a great place to visit in spring when puffy flowers bloom. This is a place where you can feel the brown meadows in fall.
California Poppies Super Bloom alert! (2/20/23)
Very well maintained wide trail, a little steep in the beginning but pretty flat to see the bloom. Lots of neighborhood street parking (please be kind to the neighbors).
Beautiful massive vibrant orange California Poppies, with many other native wild flowers.
There is sometimes a nice knowledgeable ranger in the area to answer questions and remind us to stay in the main path so we don’t destroy the wildflowers.
Beautiful views. Good wildflowers in February. Very little shade. Weir Canyon Trail is rated as difficult but seems more moderate to me except for one steep section.
Had an opportunity to spend an afternoon on this lovely trail. It is rated difficult, which I suppose is due to the many ups and downs that makes it such a delightful hike. On a Fri. in May, I only encountered three other sets of hikers and a couple of single cyclists. The trail is well-maintained and full of bird life and flowering bushes. Free on-street parking, which might be limited on weekend. There are no facilities, so plan ahead.
Well maintained hiking trails, beautiful scenery, not overcrowded. The trail is rated difficult so if you can handle it then the views and surrounding nature are definitely worth the workout!
Nice place to Mountain bike. It's a mostly green blue trail, easy to moderate with some good climbs and down hill sections. We usually make a loop out of it connecting Wier canyon trail to old Weir canyon trail.
Did a 2.5 mile hike, it was a great work out, really awesome landscapes with all the lush greenery and vibrant wildflowers. I took the Old Weir Canyon trail and it's a bit of an uphill climb.
Highly recommended for hiking there. Hilly in some locations, but overall, it was a very pleasant hiking trail.
