The staff was friendly. The area was a bit scary and I felt uncomfortable walking in by myself. My room was very clean. The bed, however, was not very comfortable. It was a bit lumpy. My room had a nice kitchenette with coffee provided. It served its purpose for the one night I was there.
Sad to say, it's as bad as other reviews have outlined. Visible dirt, furniture so old/beat up/ broken that it should have been taken to the dump YEARS ago. The upside is that the kitchen and bathroom seemed reasonably clean and smelled like bleach, great location, and it was quiet. Given what I experienced, I have no reason to doubt the validity of the reviews I see talking about even worse experiences. 100% would not return.
The rooms were dated and dirty. I had three rooms total. The carpet was gross in all three and the rooms smelled like mildew. The room we were in had a kitchen and it was gross at best (tin foil on burners, dirty toaster, nail polish on the furniture). It also had a Murphy bed which looked like it hadn’t had linens changed. There was a filthy couch taking up a large portion of the room, but I didn’t let anyone sit on it. The carpets had holes. The hotel only provides 2 towels for 4 people. The young man who checked us in was kind but the woman who was there later lacked customer service skills and was very put out by having to provide enough towels for people to shower. The young man is the only reason I gave it two stars. It’s close to everything, but so are the other hotels in Anacortes. I’d go elsewhere.
The reviews worried me a little but the place worked well for us. They were very nice and the location is perfect. Yes, it’s outdated and a little dirty but it’s an old hotel and they seem to be doing thier best. The stove and refrigerator barely worked so don’t plan on cooking or trying to store perishable food for more than a day.
We only stayed an hour. We could tell it would be outdated when we booked it but we expected safe and sanitary. There is a bad smell to the whole place. The bedside table and lamp in our room were broken, things were held together with tape. The bedsheets did not appear clean and for the first time ever we checked a mattress for bed bugs because the room felt so dirty. Our breaking point was the bathroom. Pubic hairs on the floor and it smelled like urine. When we went to talk to them no one was at the desk even though it was supposed to be manned until 10pm.
Booked 3 nights, stayed only 2 in Room 103. Management has a REAL problem with safety, cleanliness and customer service. Where to start……. * We paid for a kitchenette/ refrigerator since we brought our own food. Sadly, It was leaking profusely all over the already warped floor. A disaster! Never fixed - it looked like it was never defrosted! Spoiled food. * Window lock was broken / a stick in the window was used. Safety issue. Outside window screen was bent, twisted and had a large scratch and gauge in the frame. Use your own judgement here. * The sheets were PILLED and obviously many years old. Awful! Faded pillow covers and very hard / old pillows. * The bathtub was unsafe as it was so slippery. * The rug smelled awful and felt funny to walk on. We always wore socks! *Breakfast was a joke; one rotten apple in two days, one loaf of bread, warm milk - very limited. * The broken Lazy Boy chair had a large piece of duck tape on the head rest. How charming! * We couldn’t figure out turning the TV on. They explained you had to use one remote to turn it on and one to operate it!! * Feeling frustrated to a point where we became ill, we asked for a partial refund due to the utter frustration we had experienced - especially from our spoiled food and no refrigerator. A resounding NO. The Managers on site, Virginia and Bill blamed everything on the owners. Really!! Responsible? Pro-Active? Caring? The cost of 3 days definitely didn’t justify the conditions of this awful experience.
If I could leave zero stars, I would. The furniture was broken (beds leaning, table legs wobbly, couches were bulging and sunken, and there was pubic hair in the shower). And to top it off, the coffee machine just leaked all over the counter. And it was clear that happened repeatedly… and nobody who works there cared enough to fix it. This experience will go down in our family’s memory as the worst hotel we ever stayed at.
The absolute dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed with. The couch cover had crusted nastiness on it so we pulled them off and the couch was ripped up and the filling was everywhere. The list of horrible things is way too long to place here but when we brought it up with management, they just said there was nothing they could do but give us an email to corporate. It's sad because it could be a really cute hotel if properly managed.
Completely exceeded expectations for an âInn.â Really nicely remodeled and super quiet. This was a great stay! The second floor is only accesible by stairs (not a complaint just something to note). The staff are all super kind. The breakfast roo
