A great place presenting different cultural exhibitions every year. For those who love art and creativity, it is a good opportunity to get to know the outstanding artists of the world and their works. The exhibitions presented at this Biltmore Exhibition Center are very interesting and informative. They are really worth the attention of professional art connoisseurs and lovers.
Amherst at Deerpark is a beautiful space for events and exhibits! We had the privilege of seeing the new Leonardo da Vinci-500 years of Genius exhibition here. Wow! To see a glimpse inside the mind of this amazing man was truly awe-inspiring! There are several rooms inside to visit. It takes an hour or so to make your way through. There is a large room set up similarly to a museum displaying replicas of his artwork and inventions. My favorite room displayed large projections on multiple screens. They do a wonderful job featuring da Vinci's paintings, sketches, quotes, and much more! Seating is limited. Videos and photos are allowed inside. This exhibit is a must-see for every da Vinci fan!
We enjoyed the Italian Renaissance Experience, though for us it was not worth the cost of $35 each. To be fair, we are not all that into art, especially with no actually pieces of art there. We do like learning about history and definitely had a couple of ooooh, moments ;)
A wonderful exhibit. Take your time. There is a lot to see. This is an exhibit about Da Vinci’s genius. It is not an exhibit of all his works. The guards were wonderful about explaining the exhibit before you see it. It is located on the grounds of the Biltmore estate. There is plenty of parking and a nice gazebo if you are waiting to enter. The entryway has 2 large panels with details about him but you can see any part of the exhibit in any order that you want. There is a large unique 32-minute video presentation inside one large room that is on a continuous loop. It has limited seating and it is presented around the walls, columns, and floors of the room. It is very good because it gives you a very broad idea with pictures and sayings of his works. The other room, across from the video room has several of these exhibits and placards describing each of them. There is a gift shop if you want to pick up souvenirs to remember your visit. I really liked the exhibit and thought it did a good job of showing his genius and broad description of his works. I highly recommend it.
It was ok! Small but nicely done. Probably wouldn’t have visited if it wasn’t included with the ticket. 41 min video was decent. I’ll admit I don’t have much of an appreciation for art. The screens on the floor were cool at first but not practical. Would’ve made more sense on the ceiling
Had a lot of fun visiting. The staff was extremely courteous. Was able to experience the Van Gogh Alive exhibit and it was enlightening and enjoyable. The space for the exhibit was large enough to accommodate all of its guests.
The Van Gogh exhibit was amazing! This exhibit was nothing I have seen before. The projections around the room and on the floor showcase various art and movement. The story, as told by Van Gogh's own diary, helped in understanding the emotion behind every brush stroke. The music set the perfect tone of the experience. I do not think I can perfectly state in words how great this exhibit was. There are two more to come, Monet & DaVinci. I can not wait to experience these as well.
This was a unique experience that was rather unexpected. We visited the Van Gogh exhibit. Most visitors were not masked for COVID guidelines and I felt that there were too many people standing too close to observe social distancing. Despite this I came prepared and wore double masks. I'm accustomed to seeing art exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Guggenheim Museum so this exhibition was completely different and unique. It afforded me the opportunity to learn more about the artist without having to read each plaque which can be exhausting. The music along with excerpts from his personal letters gave you unique insight to the artist. However, with that said, this is not type of exhibit that lends itself to sketching from his work because the visual presentation is too fast. I would attend another exhibit from another artist once I plan for another visit. When and if I return to NYC I'll revisit the other traditional museums. Each manner of presentation has it's advantages.
